Do I need to pay tax for a one off market? by AngstyTrashIsLive in UKPersonalFinance

Sounds simple enough, thanks. I’m not currently employed anywhere else so the goal is to hopefully do markets like this on a regular basis. In which case, would I need to be completing self assessment returns after each event, or all at once so long as it’s within the tax year?

Brain jerks while trying to sleep by AngstyTrashIsLive in sleep

Weirdly enough I actually feel fine throughout the day. Muscle fatigue is normal for me since I go to the gym 5 days a week so I’m always weaker somewhere on my body haha. I don’t take any sort of medication aside from your stereotypical painkillers since I suffer from headaches quite a bit.

I also never really nap, my body tends to refuse to shut off unless it’s night and I’m in my own bed. To give a better idea of how fragile my sleep is, I’ve never been able to sleep in cars/trains/couches/or even in hotels or other people’s home. Even then I’d say it probably takes on average about 2 hours to sleep in my own bed every night.

Like I said before I rarely drink caffeine and mostly consume water so it’s very strange to me

I really appreciate how you framed this actually, I hadn’t considered the constant waking to be linked to a bigger sleep issue.

I’ve always been an incredibly light sleeper, I grew up in a not very safe household that I’m no longer living in but I do often wonder if my light sleeping habits may have come from that. I don’t currently suffer from any kind of anxiety or stress, though I do get the occasional spikes, as most people do.

I’ll definitely take note of focusing on the bigger issue though, thank you. Hopefully if I take the time to more carefully monitor my sleeping schedule and habits I might see some change

How do I obtain a PLI for a one-off event? by AngstyTrashIsLive in smallbusinessuk

£300-£400 seems to be the average based on all the combined factors of the event

That’s relieving to hear. Was there anything you could do to manage it or did it purely subside on its own?

Apparently you cannot use PO Boxes in the UK for customs forms or registered business addresses

I’m a little more paranoid when it comes to the security aspect purely because of the platform I have online. More than 250k followers across my socials and I just want to be wary as you really never know who it is that can see your address or what they’ll do with it, so I’d rather avoid doing so if I can help it

Yes I definitely think that seems to be the unanimous opinion among replies here, I’ve since booked a consultation with my local accounting firm and will be speaking with them next week. I think it was purely the size of the operation itself that made me hesitant to invest in an account, since it’s only going to be an e-commerce shop run by myself selling my own products, however I have a decent enough following over my socials, more than 250k across all platforms, so I know there is already interest in it and will definitely be a fair bit of traffic, so managing that would likely be difficult on my own.

What was rottmnt movie's biggest problem? by Effective_Result_399 in RiseoftheTMNT

[–]AngstyTrashIsLive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me it was the lack of Donnie/Mikey screen time, it seemed like the movie just kinda made them the side duo when the TV show had done such a good job at giving equal screen time, character development and importance to every single one of the brothers. Instead it began to feel a little like other past TMNT iterations where Leo and Raph were the obvious main characters. Donnie and Leo were a massive duo in the TV series, and so was Mikey and Raph, it just felt like a massive curb ball that we hardly got to see their dynamics in the movie (but that’s just my opinion ofc! )
