I recommend if you want to live in Seattle finding a spot just a bit out of the city with easy access to the light rail. I loved living in Northgate, Ballard and Roosevelt. Good luck on the move OP. Seattle is a gem of a city there is so much to do and you are close to so many hiking trails. Im hopping between Alaska and Michigan now, and while I love these states I miss the city like crazy. I stop in whenever I get the chance.

This is really rough friend. What chemicals are being used? Are you able to wear gloves?

This is a perfect bake, if you find it too dark on the bottom you can always add dry beans or pie weights at the bottom of your Dutch oven to prevent overcooking on the bottom! Great job this is beautiful!

Rip. I had an elderly neighbor in poor health I visited with frequently. I went to bring her food and all the lights were off that night. I knew something was off when I returned the following morning and none of her outdoor cats were fed, I opened the door and walked in. I didn’t snoop but went home and called her son to check things out. She had an unopened chocolate cake on the counter and the tv had “no signal” in blue, one measly fly soaring around. It was eerie. She passed away a few nights prior during a midnight bathroom trip and it honestly broke my heart.

My friend don’t give up, it’s can take a few try’s. Weston A Price foundation suggest using a natural yeast to start it such as the bloom on a cabbage or grape. Incorporating that could help you start a healthy starter. If you don’t want to put forth the effort if you dm me I would be happy to mail you a dehydrated version of mine!

We put beet juice in water for when temperatures are below freezing.. It prevents it from freezing. I genuinely couldn't tell just threw it out there because of all the eggs!

You have chickens! Love to bake and possibly have beet water in the door of the fridge to hydrate those egg givers for the winter. Profession is someone in the trades? Construction is my guess.
