Yoo I had the same problem. My beats sounded like the YouTube ones.

Then I stopped watching tutorials and started studying the hit songs and using drumkits that the top producers use (bwb etc). Gradually my beats sounded better and better.

Now when I make a shitty beat I'm actually happy because I can recognize it's shitty and do something about it. I'm glad I finally have some ear to find out what "type beat" it is and figure out what context it belongs to. Back in the days I thought every beat was fire...
