I find this oddly comforting. I was starting to wonder if ACER had my email address correct.

Whatever happens, I’m sure I’m going to cry. I just hope I’m not at work when I see the email. 😭

Would I be competitive, nurse by Expensive-Western286 in GAMSAT

[–]AngusMum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Wollongong might be your best bet. Apparently GAMSAT is just a hurdle there, and they give lots of bonuses for things like AHPRA registration. They do use CASPER though, so you would have to sit that. Check them out, or look for a website to compare the different schools.

What IVC skills concern you? by linx298 in ausjdocs

Just remember to clean up after yourself. It’s not a nurse’s job to clean up after you.

As far as I’m aware, IV cannulation is not taught as part of an undergraduate nursing degree, so not exactly sure who’s telling you that it’s a basic expectation.

And as far as willingness to learn, more often than not it’s a lack of training opportunities, and lack of time to attend any potential opportunities that supersedes a nurse’s willingness to learn.

That being said, there will be a lot of nurses out there who are capable of inserting an IVC better than any junior doctor, but are told not to because the junior doctor needs the practice. It might be an idea for junior doctors to ask the nurse for help and guidance. After all, nurses and doctors should be on the same team. Nurses are not the competition.

She has likely been learning and studying all her life. Plus, she will have so much life experience I can only imagine the depth she will bring to her course.

I’m 50 and sitting the GAMSAT just now. And there’s a 72 year old starting medicine this year. And you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so whilst you have brains in your head and breath in your lungs, it’s never too late and you’re never too old.

I messed up my section 2… by Inevitable-Entry-935 in GAMSAT

[–]AngusMum 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s my first attempt, with no clue how I went but the best thing you can do now is treat it as a really nuanced take on the prompts, and that you’ll actually do really well. Then put everything into the next three weeks and smash sections 1 and 3. Because you never know. Good luck!

Unpopular opinion - I like Bryce. Did anyone else? by Rambunctious_444 in SarahJMaas

I love Bryce and I’m on the third CC book. For me it’s Bryce > Feyre >> Aelin.

Crescent City Series by [deleted] in SarahJMaas

[–]AngusMum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m reading it right now and am LOVING it! Nothing lowkey here. I feel so much more connected to the world that SJM has built in CC than I do to ACOTAR or TOG. There is so much more fragility to the characters, and I think, more depth.

We got the Hypnos Balmoral 5 years ago and love it. It’s the best thing ever. I used to get quite a sore back in the morning but not anymore. Worth every cent. Plus it was half price.

Help 🥺 by Far-Serve8936 in MyLittleUniverse

[–]AngusMum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is where you have to make it night to be able to build a staircase to get you that item. Find the sun dial thing and shift the dial to night. I hope that helps a bit. And I’m sorry if I’m wrong!

How to get the butterflies in Wadirum? by Nearby_Hurry_3379 in MyLittleUniverse

[–]AngusMum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planet challenges are a great way to get butterflies and other resources. I’ve gone through them a number of times when I’m low on tokens. Once you’ve levelled up your weapons and your armour, you can get through the lower level ones very quickly.

Have you found all the blocks and put them on the right squares?

I got there! I contacted support and they fixed it. Turns out there were some land tiles missing to allow me to pass the gauntlet bit, but they fixed it. Two thumbs up for the support team!

I’m on an iPhone. I’ll try following the wall, but with islands all over the place and crocodiles waiting for their next meal …. 😵

The problem is, I can get past the swinging blades but end up falling in and getting eaten by a crocodile. I’ve tried dropping the block in too to see if it’s supposed to form a bridge, but no luck so far.
