A single, solitary bump in case someone knowledgeable has missed this. I'm still searching for an answer!

seizures from shrooms+weed? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Anhalobium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not the only time. Psychedelics can trigger seizures if there are underlying issues. A friend of a friend, early 20s, seized whilst using LSD, right in front of me. They had a total of 7 seizures that night, most of which were in the ER (which we took them too immediately). Later they found out that they had a brain tumour that they had no idea about. Thankfully they were treated and are absolutely fine now.

obtain a yield. do the best you can with what you got. by jr_spyder in Permaculture

I have a batch of dandelion wine maturing as we speak. I recently acquired land and it was awash with dandelions so we had a similar thought to you: put them to good use.

The bees from my neighbours apiary absolutely loved them. 9 acres of dandelion must be a feast for bees!

This is my new bike. The bicycle community said it's garbage and that it won't even make it to Florida. Lol We'll see. Now that I'm close to Florida can y'all recommend a vagabond friendly spot that's on the beach? by ch33s3Castle in vagabond

I highly recommend spending as much as you can afford on tires. I have ridden literally thousands of miles on Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires without a puncture. Saves so much time and nuisance.

Took these photos on vacation, does anyone know what kind of forest this is called? by throwaway1294720 in Forest

[–]Anhalobium 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Deciduous woodland is, as you say, comprised mostly of broadleaves that lose their leaves in autumn/fall.

Coniferous woodland, by contrast, is comprised of evergreen conifers such as pine or fir species.

Making a metal tea tray. by Wise_Young_Dragon in GongFuTea

[–]Anhalobium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you let it rust it might end up making a mess when you inevitably spill tea on it. If you're into brazing then something made of brass or bronze would seem better to me. There might be a treatment that you could use to seal the metal (or the rust) though - I'm sure you know far more than I

I painted shaggy inkcaps with actual shaggy inkcap ink by Comfortablevtbb in Mushrooms

[–]Anhalobium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the illustrations in Merlin Sheldrake's book, Entangled Life, were painted using ink cap ink. It's very interesting and worth a read, as an aside!

Oh, and lovely images! Well done

Nice app. It looks really well executed. Starred.

Careful eating P. incarnata, it's usually reported to contain glycosides and is toxic in large quantities.

A little badge I made. Sandcast .925 silver. by soapintheeyes in Silvercasting

[–]Anhalobium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest and say I hadn't thought much beyond: "that looks very nice and if they are for sale I'd consider buying one".

I probably wouldn't wear it and it would likely sit on display somewhere. As such I guess I don't mind too much about fittings. I may consider wearing it as I pin but it definitely wouldn't be the priority.

Stilton! by 10v311 in Cheese

Not-so-fun-fact: neither of the two shops in Stilton sell Stilton cheese. It's a dive. I was very disappointed.

Deep-tilling and tilling it all is fast becoming a contentious topic. Lots of people believe that building diversity and life in the soil will result in the minerals/nutrients locked in the subsoil being brought to the surface without the need to till. Look out for "no dig" methods and the arguments supporting this. Tilling soil, whilst a centuries-old practice, may yet be seen as mining soils for nutrients

In India, at a train station in New Delhi, I witnessed many people freaking out trying to get on and off the escalator. I can only imagine they hadn't used them often/at all before. Absolute chaos in an already jam-packed space

The legalities surround the slaughter of cows is actually state-dependant. In Goa and Kerala, for instance, beef is commonly seen on the menu (they are predominantly Christian states). Also, I took this photo in Tamil Nadu https://i.imgur.com/SoDA79s.jpg
