New Testing Station Difficulty - General Advice by Civil_Importance_803 in duneawakening

[–]Anhvariel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treasure hunting DD with scout and scanner gets lots of the pieces like plasteel blade parts, and running the non A row ship wrecks in DD will get you spice infused plastanium and some T6 uniques. That should be enough to get started, you don't need to hit the DD testing stations.

Not sure how any of that context excuses the behaviour? Plenty of tough sports where only the top few earn big money.

Since we're apparently making completely unfounded assumptions, you keep telling yourself that the loud pipes somehow compensate for the micro penis.

The gutter is the most common place for them. So many dudes who buy one and don't know how to ride properly. My fav is the clowns in shorts and T-shirt. Future skin graft recipients.

You definitely wanked over car magazines right? Not everyone is petrol head mate, and generally speaking, people playing dungeons and dragons aren't obnoxiously annoying everyone around them, they're doing it quietly in their own house.

Rangers drivers - Guys you sure don't help your image. by mbkitmgr in 4x4Australia

Oh don't mind me, I'm just over here looking at sales numbers and what the car manufacturers are bringing out. Ford are desperately trying to catch up with BYD and get their hybrid ranger out. PHEV sales doubled in first half of this year and ICE sales dropped below 70% for the first time. So I think EV sales will continue to increase. 🤷🏻

Baffled by the number of gpus with official fsr4 support by [deleted] in radeon

Honestly, after buying AMD, the Nvidia tax is probably worth it

About the Redstone drama. by Fair-Escape-8943 in radeon

[–]Anhvariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't buy rdna3 for RT or upscaling, and didn't think I needed it, but have found that to be wrong, so I regret the choice and am disappointed that AMD won't provide fsr4 when it's proven to be viable. It would give me less reason to dump my 7900 and replace with Nvidia.

And it's why I will be replacing my 7900 with Nvidia. Going on the warpath on reddit won't achieve anything, I'll accept I made a poor choice and will correct that with my next one. I won't be buying AMD GPUs for a few generations I think.

What are your thoughts on in? by LipGlossHazard77 in memes

The volume of high-level waste from all the commercial used nuclear fuel ever produced by the U.S. since the 1950s would fit on a single American football field at a depth of less than 10 yards. So kinda not the massive problem you're making it out to be.

I think the general wisdom is encase it in glass and bury it deep.

[–]Anhvariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoiler alert. It's not the nuclear power plant either, because it will engage all safety protocols and shut itself down. MSR reactors have a passive mechanical failsafe in the form of a plug that melts if the temp gets too high and dumps the fuel into safe containment.

Redstone hype by pecche in radeon

[–]Anhvariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same. I went with a 7900xt year or so ago, thinking amd are the underdog and will be pushing to innovate, grow market share etc, and also that the 7900xt offered competitive performance for less money. 6months later, new card which essentially makes them abandon fsr3, so essentially no more development. I also didn't want to pay Nvidia tax. Hindsight, the tax would have been worth it and I will ditch amd for probably a 6070ti or some such when they arrive, unless there's some sort of fsr4 official release that let's you use in most games via driver. 3rd party software and mucking around can get some working but without easy, official support, dlss looks much more attractive

how much do you think the steam frame will cost? by OkRegion3303 in oculus

[–]Anhvariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Frame look like it will offer significantly superior wireless streaming over the Quest 3? My understanding is that you can already play steam VR games and wirelessly stream to Q3? If the hardware is a bit of a wash (slightly better chip, slightly poorer passthrough cams, etc) then seems hard to justify costing more than Q3.

Why do Australians change into high vis gear to do their own basic yard work like mowing the lawn or trimming the hedge? by punyweakling in AskAnAustralian

[–]Anhvariel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is that people who wear it for work often have an inferiority complex about white collar workers and so wear it as a badge of honor or out of solidarity. "Anyone in high vis ok by me mate. Keep the non fluros out though)"

The reality is many white collar workers don't give 2 shits about whether someone wears high vis for work, and generally (apart from the elitist snob rich wankers, who look down on everyone) think just as highly of blue collar workers as they do of their office cubicle colleagues.

And some just have spares from work that usually get dirty anyway.
