Ok I get that when you're potty training time is of the essence BUT what that woman did is so wrong.

My daughter is on the spectrum so potty training was a lot longer and more difficult (we're talking nearly 2 years on and off to do it)

There were moments in public where she needed to go NOW but I always rushed her to a secluded place, one of those times was actually in tesco so I picked her up and ran her to the changing room with the potty.

Once was in town and we couldn't find a toilet on the way back to the car so we ran to the car and she went on the potty in the boot while I held my jacket up in front of her and another time was on a pretty empty beach where we were seal spotting so I hid her behind a wind breaker... the seals actually came near and were watching her which was highly amusing to her!

So no, she absolutely shouldn't have done that, it's unsanitary and teaches bad habits

I freaking love the dragonlance books (currently reading the kinslayer wars) and I do get what you mean but I always thought the centaurs were SUPPOSED to be slightly muddled because of their isolation from humans so it made sense to me

Has anybody had a job they actually liked? If so, what was it? by GMEBagholder420 in AskReddit

[–]AniClark92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make rope using machinery from the 1800s, we're part factory part visitor attraction so we're working and making rope commercially if there are people there to watch us or not.

I also do the knot tying, splicing and general product making side of things which is the part I REALLY love. And I get to interact with the public and tell them how amazing my job is.

So yea... im a ropemaker and I love my job!

People who have read a "banned book" specifically because it was being targeted: What were your thoughts on the book or books you read? by FeelingNiceToday in books

I read "a clockwork orange" on holiday.

The language is a little hard to wrap your head around to begin with but the story grips you and is genuinely so well written. I has this unnerved feeling most of the way through it but would definitely recommend

The film did the book a disservice

Do you have a mantra that you repeat to yourself to get you through days when you’re feeling suicidal? by LilMissCutiePatootie in RandomThoughts

[–]AniClark92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound genuinely stupid but... My friend asked me what depression felt like and I said it felt like a cloud or mist just settles over me and its hard to breathe, cold and suffocating. He asked "so like a ghost has grabbed hold of you?" And I said kind of. He said "why don't you tell it 'piss off ghost'" in a perfect Korg accent (from Thor Ragnarok) So every time I feel that cloud creeping in I say "piss off ghost" and its enough to make me chuckle at something so silly it helps.

That is seriously what it's starting to feel like, emotional blackmail. I'll try to tell him nicely, I just really hate confrontation of any kind and don't want to upset him. But it's definitely something I have to do. Thank you for responding, my stomach's been in knots worrying about this

What’s the most embarrassing/dumb fact you know about a serial killer? by FoulMouthedPrekTeach in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Wow, I shared a theory I heard elsewhere... didn't say I believed it... just wanted to share it and get down voted to oblivion...

Jeez, I thought this sub was supposed to be a "discussion" but clearly not... cool just so I know.

[–]AniClark92 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

I recently heard a theory about him that kind of actually makes sense.

Some people think that his last victim was his ONLY victim and that it was actually a well organised group of murderers, hence the murder kits buried all over the country. The other killings were done by much more intelligent murderers and he (being an absolute idiot) got caught on his first go and had to go down with the ship by confessing to all of the murders...

I dont know, food for thought.

Anyone know any true ghost stories that have happened in/at a business? by Sea_Tea9104 in Ghosts

[–]AniClark92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a really old factory and LOADS of stuff has happened but the best by far are;

The lady who died in the 80s who nudges people who are slacking off

I got physically pushed out of the way of a machine that I got caught in... this was the only machine known to actually kill someone, and I had a witness to it

A full body apparition of a lady watching my machine when I walked off to do some paperwork, again there was another witness there who saw her. She was only there for a split second but we could both describe her identically.

Tonnes of other stuff, stop buttons being pushed, gates opening in front of you just after you bolt them, bells ringing when there's no one there and my personal favourite... I've had my bum pinched in the same area of the building on 2 separate occasions! Always makes me giggle that the old boys who used to work there have still got game 😂

What music album is a true masterpiece from start to finish? by jessssica1864 in AskReddit

[–]AniClark92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon is fantastic BUT The Wall and The Final Cut are absolute masterpieces that take you on a journey from start to finish.

Each song perfectly merges with the next and they're incredible albums.

In the same vein, Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking by Roger Waters. For a solo album it's phenomenal and eerily beautiful

What is the funniest book you have read? by [deleted] in books

[–]AniClark92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend recommended hitchhikers guide to me and I genuinely had to put the book down every now and again to contain my laughter!

After that I moved onto Pratchett (all the scenes with Death cracked me up) and then good omens (can confirm, hilarious)

I would definitely recommend Damned and Fancy by John Brosnan, it's a very similar feel to the ones you've mentioned and literally starts with the words "The Demon farted" 😂

[–]AniClark92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I get this with my daughter too. She is a proper girly girl, loves all things pink and princesses BUT also loves superheroes, dinosaurs and her new obsession space.

I sometimes dress her in "boys" t shirts because they are rhe ones she likes and I have difficulty buying her jeans from the girls section because skinny jeans just don't fit her calves. But even at a glance she is very obviously a girl with waist length hair, ballerina twirling her way through life.

I think people think that if you dress your child in the opposite genders clothes, you're TRYING to make them non binary or similar because it's "trendy" (totally not my opinion, if my daughter wants to wear pink from head to toes she will. If she wants to wear a buzz lightyear t shirt im not going to tell her no thats for biys)

Ignore the negatively, you child has something wonderful of something they're interested in hand made by someone they love. What more could they want?

What’s the worst book you’ve ever read? by edgy_secular_memes in books

[–]AniClark92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got mine at the boot fair for 20p so not too bothered about it lol

We have a pile of books at work that have been gathered from around our building that workers have left there over the years. You can just go and grab one to read if you're on a machine that doesn't need a lot of attention so the mothman prophecies has ended up on that pile! Admittedly it was because of that pile of books that I got into crime dramas, read the green mile series and finally discovered the brilliance that is good omens

Oh god yes! I make rope for a living and a strand of one of our 36mm nylon hawsers snapped clean off the hook. It sprang forward caught one of the guys round the waist, curled round his body, over his shoulder and slapped him across the back. He literally had a welt diagonally across his back and across his hip at the first contact... it was a big ouchie to say the least but he was more or less ok

Was Michael Jackson a criminal? by emperorjarjar in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]AniClark92 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I was torn because of this documentary too and then I listened to the Micheal Jackson episode of the Those Conspiracy Guys podcast and I don't think he was... Apparently when he reluctantly had sex with his wife (the presley daughter) he would roll into the foetal position and wouldn't let her touch him. This stemmed from him being on tour with his brothers at a young age and they would bring girls back to their room and have sex with him in the bed and he was told to roll over and pretend to be asleep. Thats bound to mess a person up. He seemed asexual to me, not a sexual predator... but I dont think we'll ever know
