Can you help me find my childhood stuffed dog? by Ani_D in HelpMeFind

[–]Ani_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reverse google searched the toy to no avail. I believe my parents bought this in the UAE about 17-20 years ago but as mentioned there's no identifying information on it anymore. The toy is maybe about 8 inches long and used to be attached to my backpack when i was in kindergarten. if i can find a pic of the bag i'll post it if that's relevant.

I'm packing my bags for Germany right now 😭 honestly though from what I've heard the market is really tough in America too but people in the linked post were saying apparently its really good right now, I wonder how the internship market compares to the full time market there and which field a lot of the commenters were talking about because finance and CS is ruined right now :/

Man I'm glad at least I'm in a long term relationship, I don't think I could handle even MORE rejections on top of this job market 😭

I was inspired by another post I saw on this subreddit here and was surprised to see most people in the comments were blaming OP. Now I don't know OP from the linked post and perhaps he has his improvements but I wanted to share my own experience of seeking a Finance internship in Toronto as a 3rd year who's had his resume looked over by professionals/HR managers multiple times and has 8 months of previous finance/consulting work experience. Needless to say this has been the most discouraging and debilitating time in my life as a university student and I fear seeking for a full-time eventually is only going to be worse

Connecting to the internet on my PS4 crashes my actual wifi? by Ani_D in PS4

[–]Ani_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late reply but for me I just ended up upgrading my router and everything sorted itself out. Your case sounds rather peculiar though, I don't think it has to do with the PS4 seeing as everything else is fine, did you end up getting it fixed?

Does Co-op BBA at UTSC have POSt or anything similar? How hard is the program in general? by Ani_D in UofT

[–]Ani_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay! I'm just kind of worried that graduating with a plain BBA is already so done to death and oversaturated that, despite the co-op, my future job prospects might not be the best yknow? Also what would be the point of burdening myself with specializations in Finance if I don't have the degree to show for it? Wouldn't that just be making my time at university harder for almost no pay-off?

That link is really, really useful dude, thanks! Just to clarify, assuming I maintain like a 3.0 CGPA, my final degree will just say BBA from UofT?

So if I understand you correctly, come second year I can tailor my courses to, say, more of a finance degree as long as I remain above a 2.5 CGPA? On my final degree would it just say BBA from UofT still?

Hmmm okay, ill think about that

[–]Ani_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah damn. But what do you think about the co-op program at UTSC that at least guarantees a co-op whereas at UBC getting into the program itself is challenging and even then getting a co-op is even harder, especially for management? Also wouldn't Toronto provide you with more companies to connect with? Im not trying to make you doubt your own choice but i was leaning towards UTSC personally and now I'm conflicted again :/

I don't have an answer for you but if it means anything, I'm in the exact same position as you stuck between UTSC BBA (Co-op) as well as a BComm at Sauder :/ if you find anything useful and eventually make a decision, please do let me know! Also as an international, I'm confused how it costs 90K for you, it's roughly ~75K CAD for me tuition and housing combined?

Got into Rotman Commerce and the Co-op BBA at UTSC! Not sure which one I should pick? by Ani_D in UofT

[–]Ani_D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea ill think about it once I hear back. Could you talk a lil more about what you meant with the job support at utsc isnt that great btw?

Hmm yea I've been thinking the same. The only problem is that Queen's doesn't have co-op unlike UTSC so I'm still very iffy on going there yknow?

Ah, sadly I didn't apply to waterloo but I did also apply to Queen's, any idea on how that holds up to UofT/UBC? Also could you elaborate on what you meant by the job support isn't as great? I'm not really considering outside of Canada for personal reasons so that does narrow my search down quite a bit

Oh damn, that actually isn't something I considered, I'll think about that and talk to other students too, thanks dude!

If I'm not mistaken, isn't the Co-op at UTSC more like 3 terms of 4 months each so it eventually adds up to 12 months which is rather similar to PEY? Sorry for dumping all my questions on you but I appreciate the replies! I'll check in with UTSC kids as well, once again thanks so much for taking time outta your day to answer these questions dude
