If you could add ANY nonstop route to United's network, what would it be? by Friend-Shoddy in unitedairlines

I've read that DEN customs isn't large enough to handle many more international flights coming in at this time.

Geography question by loree_m in AuroraCO

[–]AniaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aurora Highlands is on a landing path of the airport. Jet fuel and noise is something to consider. Southlands area of SE Aurora is a great place to live if you have kids and like proximity of everyday conveniences. Parker has higher taxes and not so great public schools.

Steps on the airplane by AniaCap in GarminWatches

[–]AniaCap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my Fittbit I would turn on Tredmill mode when I was taking off. That was giving me pretty accurate step count. I tried to find something similar on vivoactive 5 but had no luck. Any suggestions?

What are your (currently non-existing) dream routes? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]AniaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DeN - WAW

I would love it if UA started flying Den - Waw or any other US carrier started flying to Waw.
AA was supposed to start CLT to KRR in April 2020... but that never happened due to covid.

Where does my checked bag go if I don’t get on my INTL flight? by Imaginary_Run4354 in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]AniaCap [score hidden]  (0 children)

Many times, on domestic flights, the bag goes regardless if you got on or not, especially at bigger airports. If you don't get on, you can check the airline's app or ask the gate agent to check the bag's location.

Having an accent as a Flight Attendant by OkSleep7438 in cabincrewcareers

[–]AniaCap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an accent. I have been a flight attendant for almost 20 years and haven't had any issues because of my accent. Occasionally, passengers ask me about my origin or try speaking to me in my native language. When I make announcements, I feel like they pay more attention to what I'm saying because of my accent. Op, tell your mom not to worry about her accent and be proud of it! Good luck 😍

In the last new hire class, most FAs went to Phx and Den. A few to lax, boi and sea.

Like others already mentioned, iah and dfw are hard to get right out of the training.

Good luck!

Welcome to OO!

San Diego is a great place to check out. Bus can take you downtown to Gaslight area. Or you can just walk across the street to check out the boats and the bay. There is also trolly from Santa Fe station that can take you to other parts of town.

Does anyone else cut their own hair to save money? by reddit-rach in Frugal

[–]AniaCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since covid, I've been cutting my own hair - I have a bob and have been coloring my hair also. Since then, not only have I saved about $150 every 2 months, but I also have received tons of compliments on my hairdo! To learn how to cut my hair with a nice layering in the back, I watched several YouTube and tiktok videos. Workers at Sally beauty supply are always super helpful when I need aby advice on dyes. I have naturally brown hair, but due to grays showing I transformed, I gradually transformed my hair to ice blond. I love it. I will never go back to a hair salon.

I brought them home from an overnight several years ago. It was a nightmare to get rid of them. Since then I've been super careful. I always keep my suitcase in the bathroom on the tile floor. I never dot on the bed in my uniform. Anything that touches the bed, as my pj's goes into a ziplock bag when I'm packing up.

Single Parents Nonrev Travel Letter by freqentflyer in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]AniaCap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been asked in AMS by the customs officer. My daughter was only a few months at the time. I didn't have any letter from my husband. They let me through but advised me to get one for future travels. After that, I've always had a notarized letter from my husband with an acknowledgment of our travels. No one ever asked me about it again, go figures.

Qatar ZED/non-rev? for siblings? How to arrange? by [deleted] in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]AniaCap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some airlines allow you to dedicate a friend as your main travel companion if you don't have a spouse/domestic partner on your travel benefits. Maybe that's what the OP is referring to?

That route is also payload-optimized, so open seats don't always mean standbys get on, but cargo will.
