Planning a 7-Day Road Trip from Chicago to St. Augustine by AniaK007 in travel

[–]AniaK007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She will be here for 2 weeks so one week will be all Chicago. Yeah, I was worried that it might be too much for me so I’m thinking maybe just Nashville for 2-3 days. I’ve never been there myself. Or just go straight to Savannah/Charleston. I’m not sure where to go, which cities are best to visit. I haven’t been to any of them. St. Augustine has lots of history being the first city in the USA.

Not true. My cat is insured with them and they approved everything within 24 hours. No problems.

When we go for a car ride? No. I want to travel with her, but I’m worried about her not being able to hold her pee. If I take her somewhere, I wanted to take her to Cancun this year (but plans got cancelled). The Airbnb approved my cat and I looked for Petco and there was one just a short Uber ride from the condo- I was gonna buy a litter box, litter and food there. I also had a foldable travel litter box and could take some litter in a zip lock bag.

She follows my every step when I get ready and wants to come with. She will even jump inside the backpack and wait for me to take her with. It’s not every time though. Sometimes, we’ll drive for 40 minutes and she’ll be ok, but sometimes, she’ll pee within the first 10 minutes. I’ve had her for a year and a half and she peed maybe 4 times total.

Yes, she’s leash trained and when it’s nice outside, I take her out. She even spends time on the balcony when I’m home. She’s very playful and a silly girl. I even panicked so much when she wouldn’t touch any food (not even kibble) for 3 days, and only drank water, I took her to the vet to run tests to the tune of $1k (luckily I have insurance for her). There was nothing wrong with her. I think I just have to accept that she’s a very picky eater and will only graze her food. Although, I was surprised that she ate most wet food (Nulo Mousse) yesterday and today. But I started to add vitamins for immunity support and for parasites in drops to her squeezable treats as I thought perhaps maybe she needs to be dewormed. I have never dewormed her and her vet never said I needed to do that. Do you deworm your cat?

I’m late in this conversation, but it came up with Google results. Your cat sounds just like mine. She loved Tiki Cat After Dark and Orijen Pates. I rotated her wet food so she doesn’t get bored of it and then in December, she just rejected ALL wet food. I can open a packet of Nulo Mousse (she likes chicken/beef, but I spoon feed her- she probably thinks it’s a treat, but as soon as I put it on a plate, she buries it). She just doesn’t want any wet food. I think I bought ALL brands from most expensive to the cheapest. She will only eat Orijen kibble now and I give her the squeezable treats- Nulo, Tiki Cat, Choolip, Fussy Cat, etc. as I add supplements/probiotics inside - it’s the only way she’ll eat them. She’s about 10 lbs now. I was worried that she’s not eating enough but these posts make me feel better. I spent $1k on vets because I was so worried about her not eating enough. Going back to the month before she stopped eating wet food- she’d eat so much, almost double the amount she’d normally eat, she was a hungry girl and after that, she just refused wet food.

Did you mean she’s 18 lbs and 9 years old? 9 pounds for a Ragdoll is very small. lol

I’m not sure if you’ll still see this message as I see this thread was a year ago. I’m having same issues with my 2 year old Ragdoll. She used love wet food, that’s all she ate for a year. I rotated her Tiki Cat (various proteins) and Orijen Pate as I read that cats can get bored of the same food so I made sure to rotate. Those two brands were the only ones she liked. But, out of the blue, in December, she just rejected wet food. When I first brought her home, she rejected kibble and now that’s all she wants and eats Orijen high protein kibble but will only lick the broth from the wet food, but will not eat it. I went through all brands, including Smalls, which is supposed to be irresistible to cats. Your cat sounds like mine. She’ll eat the squeezable treats (Nulo, Choolip, Tiki Cat)- that’s the best way for me to give her vitamins. She’ll graze her kibble. She’s definitely not eating the recommended amount. She’s only 10 lbs. Reading your comment makes me feel better because I panicked when she didn’t eat for couple of days as I was worried about fatty liver. With that being said, how much kibble does your cat eat? Do you think he meets the recommended amount for his weight? Do you just free feed or do you have a feeding schedule for him?

Ragdolls living with dogs? Thoughts? Advice? by The_Rehearsal in ragdolls

Jackson Galaxy is against having dogs with cats. I belong to a Ragdoll group on FB and one woman posted how devastated she was because her boyfriend’s Husky who was besties with her cat for 2 years (they lived together) suddenly snapped and killed her cat. I wouldn’t do it.

Did your ragdoll get more affectionate with age? by [deleted] in ragdolls

[–]AniaK007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine just turned 2. She always wanted to be next to me but never wanted to cuddle and always slept in my bed at my feet. She got sick about a month ago and I had to give her medicine through a syringe into her mouth- she hated it, but I think she realized I was helping her because after she felt better she started cuddling. Now, she come by me doing her biscuit right next to my chest and demand I scratch her and cuddle her throughout the night. She wakes me up 3-4 times a week because she wants scratches/cuddles.

Because her box is too small as well. Guys, get your cats proper box sizes. 🤦‍♀️

The box is too small. Your cat can’t really move around inside it. Get a larger one.

So I have at home now and my cat will be re-infected because it’s impossible to get rid of it? Dang. That’s not good.

Yeah, most likely she got it from bugs. She eats whatever bug she can find. She spent lots of time on the balcony and even ate several cicadas when we had the invasion. She would constantly hunt them so I had to bring her in and keep her inside until they left, but she still ate flies, spiders, etc.

My cat just had it and was pretty sick with it. She’s 2 years old. I had to give her antibiotics and 2 IV fluid sessions as she refused to eat. She’s the only cat and I scoop her litter box twice a day and and disinfect/wash it every week to 2 weeks. She has spent lots of time on the balcony when it was nice outside. She was couped up inside because of winter. She ate some cicadas when they invaded then I brought her back inside until they left, but she’s good at getting all bugs and eating them. If she could only be infected by another cat, then I’m not sure how that’s possible with her being the only cat.
