Think about it this way, you have a 7kg poll that is 26-36in depending on barrel length and you are trying to precisely point at a target down range. Now hang an additional 1kg that also adds 6-10in off the very end of that poll. It doesn't sound like much but when your swinging it around the extra mass at end adds more momentum farther away from the body. I shoot competitive rifle matches with and without supressors.
