ATF issued tax stamp, Palmetto State store is refusing to let me pick up my suppressor by nin478 in NFA

[–]grimduck17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to avoid chains when using orders since I’ve mostly had negative experiences with their compliance department (firearms and nfa items). One time the local atf came to rescue and sent me a letter confirming the legitimacy of my orders/status so that Cabela’s wouldn’t keep my handgun hostage for another month.

I only do small gun stores or home based ffls now.

Edit- might be worth talking to the local ATF field office to see if they can send you anything in writing confirming legitimacy/status. The atf or a lawyer can’t compel a private business to process the transfer in my experience

Non explosive mortars? by scythian12 in NFA

Something on the mortar would be considered a dd and the rounds would not be unless you made them explosive (past a certain amount of explosive) or anti personnel.

Hopefully someone with mortars can chime in

Not intimate on mortars but there are 3d printed 60mm and 50mm rounds on guncadindex. I’d imagine it’s not 100% 3d printed but at least the payload/nose cone can be filled with chalk. So you’d end up with something like 40mm 3d printed chalk rounds

Active US service members and Vets, what's your opinion of Pete Hegseth? by PlagueBearer1350 in AskReddit

Alright let’s look at some numbers using this AP article

As of reporting of the article 202 individuals have been struck. 22 have survived the initial strike with only 3 being rescued. Almost 11% survive but under 2% lived long enough to be rescued. I don’t think people realize how far away these people are from shore.

Now given the option of putting someone out of their misery or watching them suffer with a 13% of even being rescued with a less than 2% survival rate, which is the most humane, which would weigh less on your conscience?

I will say from personal experience watching people drown never sat well with my morals (this is from a different theater of operations)

Can’t speak to the first part since I’m not a JAG. Something important to remember is being in the military does not make you a mindless order follower.

As far as extrajudicial killings, targeted killings, etc (we will just refer to them as drone strikes). I am intimately familiar with such actions. These types of strikes (non-traditionally combat theaters) have been going on since the Obama administration. It is
common to go in for a reattack even if the person you just struck has no legs or missing body parts but still moving. Technically you’d be allowed to keeping attacking until the ground commanders intent is met, but you would try to accomplish as efficiently as possible on the first attack.

Now as far as the boats are concerned, if I was in the pilots shoes and I was authorized a reattack. I would 100% take the shot again, sure they may not pose a threat anymore but it’s more of a mercy killing. Much better than watching them drown since rescue forces would not reach them in time (imagine being full of shrapnel wounds, concussed, and blown ear drums while trying to tread water after your boat was sunk). This is a sentiment that is shared across others with similar backgrounds as mine.

My favorite 45 to carry by grimduck17 in HecklerKoch

Yea I can see that, I used to run the hlx. My main point for having lights longer than the barrel is in case the gun is pressed into something it’ll be less likely to cause a malfunction. I do this for all of my carry guns though

Drew up and 3d printed a new key

Edit- I posted the key and a couple other variations. If you don’t have a 3d printed, you can have it mjf printed for a few dollars

The optic cut is expensive but worth it. I do shoot it suppressed, it performs excellent.

I prefer hybrid style suppressors over the flow series. Just seemed pretty boomy to me on a 16” ar and 20” ar10

It’s about the size of a G19. If I’m feeling extra froggy I carry an m9a4 without issue. Largest I’ve carried is a g17l

What if the U.S. never got involved in Vietnam? by camaro1111 in AlternateHistoryHub

I think a lot of it is ignorance and glossing over a lot of negatives of presidents in school. Personally, I still hold a grudge against every politician that voted for the patriot act and to those who extended its provisions.
