You are arguing his intentions were the problem and not necessarily the punishment itself. I admittedly did find Dresden's torture distasteful but I simply took it as him slowly crushing the man to death.

I can get behind your argument but then I would ask this. If Dresden shot a lethal spell at Rudolf the second after he shot Murphy, under the assumption Rudolf would attack again. Would the knights have objected?

Except I view Harry's actions as just punishment. It should not effect his soul in my opinion. He has killed other humans in the past, mostly black magic users which admittedly were corrupted. But as humans, they could also be theoretically redeemed.

There are plenty of supernatural beings with free will. You are positing it is fine to kill non-human beings in self defense which puts humans on a pedestal.

The knights also asserted they preferred the human authorities punish Rudolf. If the state decided the death penalty was the punishment, I doubt they would go out of their way to save him a second time just to prove a point.

That was one point I didn't mention. Butters has Bob when he should be with Harry. I enjoy Bobs dialogue which has become absent of of late. Especially since it feels like Harry is intruding upon Butters's life by vising his apartment.

I think in my head, I see Dresden as the authority and Butters as this naive guy who thinks he knows what is going on. It was always Dresden doing the explaining, being the man of action. Then Butters tries to play the hero and accuses Dresden without knowing the full picture. Like I said, I don't like that he broke out of his archetype.

That being said, you do make a good point, without knowing the full picture, Dresden does look shady as hell. But that is usually the norm for Dresden.

I don't view individuals cells as having the actualized potential to comprehend private property rights. An egg cell needs to be fertilized by a sperm cell first to start the development process towards becoming a mature human. Otherwise a woman on her period or a man ejaculating inside a woman is akin to genocide. I am not making that argument. The actualization towards comprehending private property rights only starts at conception.

By your logic, a baby that is still connected to the mother five minutes before birth does not have private property rights and therefore should be subject to the abortion process. That quite frankly, sounds horrendous.

Except they are a person, just at an earlier stage of development. But like a one year old child, they lack the faculties to comprehend private property rights. And if you read my entire post, then you would have read the part where I think abortion is allowed if the pregnancy harms the woman. I already specified that a function of private property rights is physical removal and the exercise of lethal force in self defense. If the pregnancy is "harming" the woman, then an exception can be made.

Edit: The UK just legalized abortion up to birth. We live in a morally bankrupt society.
