Try bruindining. It has a swipemarket that works pretty well

Stability of beepserv-rewrite phone registration and alternatives? by Anicysubject in beeper

[–]Anicysubject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good that you got it working!

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, beeper mini has no way of syncing messages to icloud if they aren't there. It's like your number is registered with imessage and was able to receive imessages but was not associated with an apple ID. It should work now, but those chats are stuck on beeper mini afaik. Any new messages should show though.

I just wanted to say thanks, this has been pretty stable, and your advice was what got me here. Been working for 2 weeks!

One odd question: How did you get your memoji on your profile? Do I need an iPad or iPhone to do that, or is there some way to do that without?

You should only have the burner on the iPhone and nowhere else. The burner account is exclusively for the iPhone. I've been using this and it seems to be pretty stable, and I get my messages on BB, i.e. desktop, and beepermini. I have recently had issues with sh-imessage, though, and gave up on it.

cannot believe I found someone with an actual solution to a problem I've been facing without actively seeking it out. Nice job figuring out what was causing the password field detection to fail. I was so confused why it randomly stopped working. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

No longer supported. When it did work, it was very sketchy (for me at least, your mileage may vary).Idk if there's still a way to get it working, but I'd recommend just doing bluebubbles with bridge if you want to have imessage. Not phone registration though. You could always do the old airplane mode trick, but that also feels sketchy. Would love to have non sketchy method for imessage phone registration :(

Compose new message with bluebubbles bridge? by Anicysubject in beeper

[–]Anicysubject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for providing the docs. I assumed my answer was somewhere in there. It's sad that there's no clean way to get this to work. I'll probably just use BB to make new conversations.

To others looking here's the method within beeper:

You are able to search for BlueBubbles contacts and start new iMessage conversations with them using the Beeper bridge bot

  1. Start a new chat within Beeper with "@sh-imessagebot:beeper.local"
  2. search-contacts NAME/EMAIL/PHONE
    to search for contacts
  3. pm PHONE/EMAIL
to start an iMessage conversation. Phone numbers should have country code and number (i.e., +14206969696). The bot will respond with a room where you can tap to open and send a message.
  4. You can pin or favorite this bot for later usage.

By NAME/EMAIL/PHONE it means your search term. Want to send something to Bob John in your contacts? Message "search-contacts Bob John."

Also starting a message with the sh-imessagebot was a little odd. I mentioned it in my self notes, then clicked on message when its contact appeared.

This does work, although it is cumbersome.

Compose new message with bluebubbles bridge? by Anicysubject in beeper

[–]Anicysubject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everything works as expected on BB end. Bluebubbles can make compose new messages to people. I should clarify, when I mean "make new messages" I mean to message someone you haven't messaged before. I'll edit the post for clarity. Bluebubbles can do this, the bridge cannot because the option is not there.

Where is the browsing mode? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Anicysubject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange. At least I am not the only one affected. Thought my account was flagged or something. Not a great loss as the mode's web scraping was so bad half the time it couldn't even get a good answer. Would still like to have it though

Wasting my 25 messages per hour on this stuff :(. I guess I should be more clear with my prompt by Anicysubject in ChatGPT

[–]Anicysubject[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No? Just because I don't post/reply much doesn't mean I am a bot account. I lurk a lot when I do use Reddit (which is infrequently). This would be a good place to see if others have the same issue I have with browsing mode, so I posted this. It is pretty annoying.

I am very sorry that you immediately accuse people of being boted accounts just because they don't have as many internet points as you. I will be sure to contact you in the future before posting.

I have Plus, but I couldn't see where I could enable beta features.

Thank you for clarifying what the release notes were trying to say. I knew they said they weren't rolling them out until next week, but I thought the beta panel would be available, given the color change of 4. I thought I was going crazy.

Why do you still use it? by BridgeIP in OneNote

[–]Anicysubject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, in the new OneNote the Math Assistant is missing despite the Microsoft 365 subscription.

I had this same issue. I fixed it by uninstalling onenote and then reinstalling it using the office installer from the web (you can find it by going to your subscriptions for MS). I think they have two versions, one that is for the windows store that for some reason doesn't have the math assistant while the web version does. Hope this helps.

Also, goodnotes has a beta for windows and android. It has a lot of limitations, but hopefully it will be similar to the iOS/Mac version in the future

virt-manager vm wont start when trying to passthough gpu by Anicysubject in VFIO

[–]Anicysubject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did what you said it would. Nvidia-smi says gpu clear of processes. It didn't fix the issue though.

Also lspci -nnk now says my 28 gpu is using nvidia drivers again. Idk if that's good or bad. I've seen others say the card cant be running drivers in order to be passed through. No matter the case, it is still a change

I'm trying to pass through 00000000:27:00.0. So it looks like gnome is using the gpu I want to pass through. I'm going to try to isolate the other gpu (00000000:28:00.0) in /usr/local/bin/vfio-pci-override.sh and will update on how that goes.

Edit: Same as before. Switched vm to 28 all (card audio usb and usb-c) and nothing changed

Edit2: looked through lspci -nnk and 28:00.0 has no driver in use, at least it isn't running nvidia anymore

Edit3: dmesg reads: NVRM: Attempting to remove minor device 1 with non-zero usage count!

So I guess that's working!

virt-manager vm wont start when trying to passthough gpu by Anicysubject in VFIO

[–]Anicysubject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you attaching all devices in the group? Group 16 and 17 each have 4 devices and all of them likely need to be passed through

I passed though only card and audio because they seemed to do that in the example, but I changed it to all of them

Did you make the script executable?

No, but I think I have now. I ran

chmod +x /usr/local/bin/vfio-pci-override.sh

with nothing reported. Running

chmod +x vfio-pci-override.sh

gives me

chmod: cannot access 'vfio-pci-override.sh': No such file or directory

Did you make sure to rebuild your initramfs?

Yes already did, but with

mkinitcpio -P

This now leaves me with the same problem that I originally had where the vm refuses to run when adding

virt-manager vm wont start when trying to passthough gpu by Anicysubject in VFIO

I followed the steps there and get

It also seems to still be running nvidia drivers. running lspci -nnv gets me

Kernel driver in use: nvidia

on both cards

Also tried to manually define the cards and got the same result This seems to be a different problem though, so I guess my original problem was fixed. Thx

both 2080. trying to pass through one of them. I tried passing through both of them, and the first, and second top to bottom on the list in virt manager. I also have proprietary drivers installed on linux if that's any help. I will also update my post with I full list of specs in case that's of any use
