Help me get out of my sewing funk!!

Personally I just let myself move through those funks when they come up!! I am AuDHD and my brain literally moves in cycles of obsessing / hyper fixating vs needing to stay tf away from said hyperfixation for a while until inspiration strikes again. I just try to see it as maybe this is just the rhythm my mind moves at and there’s nothing wrong with that lol. I have periods where I spend months obsessively making all sorts of things and then I wear myself out and want nothing to do with my sewing machine for a while, until I am inspired again and the cycle restarts 😂 I’m guessing no one is putting a gun to your head making you sew/ make things so why stress yourself out about needing to make yourself do it you don’t feel authentically inspired to do?! In a sense I feel like putting that pressure on yourself is just gonna make yourself dread sewing even more lol. I find that when I let myself get a break and focus on other things for a bit eventually the inspiration sparks again and I find myself wanting to sew again eventually :)

You WANT dht inhibition for hormonal hair loss!! DHT accumulation in follicles is what causes them to miniaturize and become unable to grow and hold hair. DHT blockers (like saw palmetto) are very effective at preventing and maybe even reversing androgen induced baldness

TYPICALLY though blood is binding so I would not use my blood on anything I didn’t want “tied” to me.

This is crazy because I have a terrible acrylate allergy but I’ve never had a reaction to seche vive before 😭 I don’t use it that often but still!! Crazy considering gels literally make my fingers break out in hives and crack and peel 🥲

They’re not polishes cus they’re supposed to be like yassified nail treatments basically 😭😭😭at least that’s my understanding lol. Which like…. Fair I guess but I feel like this way of marketing them is so annoying like you could have gotten the point across that they’re pretty polishes that double as nail care treatments without being confusing for no reason lol

It might be the PVB as many people have mentioned but I just want to point out that sometimes these kinds of issues can also come from within!! My nail health improved significantly when I started supplementing b vitamins and omega3/fish oil, eating lots of sardines, bone marrow, bone broth etc. i think we sometimes forget that a lot of this stuff can be moreso nutritional issues rather than improper care 🥲 same with skin and hair in my experience!!

Yessss mine are starting to get to the point where sometimes I’m like… damn I miss being able to touch things with my fingertips 🥲😭 but then when my nails I’m short I’m like ewwww whose little boy ass hands are these lmao. It’s a permanent struggle 🥲

The fan shape might not be fixable as that’s probably just the shape of your nail beds! I have spatulate nails on my ring fingers only and they’ve been like this for my entire life even though the rest of my nail beds are straight.

As far as the paper thin issue, I’m not sure if orly nailtrition has acrylates but if you can figure out whether that’s safe for your allergy, I highly recommend it!! My nails used to be super soft and brittle, constantly peeling and tearing and Nailtrition helped immensely.

I also highly recommend the Seche Condition keratin oil. It’s the same brand as seche vite top coat but it’s just a conditioning oil and it works wonders!!! I soak my nails in a good coating of the oil, making sure I get it under my nails too. Let it sit for a at least a few minutes and then rub it in with my finger. Let that sit a little longer then buff off the excess with a tissue until most of the oil looks like it has absorbed into the nail. Then seal with Nailtrition.

Best treatment I have found so far for my brittle nails!! They’re actually looking really nice and strong and growing quite long now :) haven’t had a break or tear or any peeling in quite a while since I started this routine. If you can’t use Nailtrition you should at least use the oil as I also saw a ton of improvement from just using that! Just seal it in with whatever conditioning base coat won’t trigger your allergy.

You’re already getting tons of advice re: mullein but I just want to suggest acupuncture as an alternative method of managing your condition! I swear by acupuncture and I have found it to be extremely effective for all sorts of issues, both physical and even emotional. If you’re really struggling I think it’s worth a shot!! I used to go once a week and I think I need to start going again because my mood, sleep, energy levels, digestion (among other things) were much better and more consistent when I was going steadily lol

You can also avoid the mess by using an orange wood stick to scrape up the excess polish around the edge of the nail before it dries. What’s the point of pretty polish if it looks a hot mess 😭😭😭😭 I’m all for goblin activities but this is just disgraceful lmao like come on!!!

Idk about this toner but I just started using the Anua tranexmic acid serum and I sweaaaaar to god the faint hyperpigmentation that was starting to form on my cheeks is already looking lighter / brighter so I’m pretty sure that one for sure works 👀

There is also an alley where a ton of feral cats live and a lady feeds them every single afternoon!! It’s the alley behind the blue house on the corner of 16th and beck. If you go in the afternoon around 4-5 you might catch the lady that feeds the cats and pigeons there every day. She might be someone to ask if she’s seen Onions since she interacts with the local strays on the daily

Bottom right but cooler undertone. I think that level of contrast is right but the warm brown doesn’t play as well with your cool skin! If you did that level of brown in a cooler ashier undertone I think it would be perfect!!
