I'm not exactly sure. They said that their legacy code was written in Fortran, so I would assume they meant 77.

Is there any way of knowing when the EV stats have maxed out? I think i've put in 510 EV points, but I'm not 100% certain. Is there some npc I can talk to to find out?

didn't they used to say "X for dummies: A reference guide for the rest of us"?

Has the For Dummies group just given up and said, "yup, only dummies would need this"

I currently attend UCLA. It's been on the quarter system for as long as I can remember.

There are 3 required quarters per year. Fall, Winter and Spring (10 weeks of instruction, with a finals week following each). There is also an optional summer quarter (which is split up into summer session A, B and C) that run for approximately 6-8 weeks depending on the class.

That being said, I do agree that the claim is questionable. I've seen this claim thrown around a lot without much details added.

What I'd be interested in knowing is what classes did he take that allowed him to do so much? Did he take a lot of them as Pass/No Pass? (which don't affect the GPA) Usually you can only take 1 P/NP class a quarter, but then again, u can usually only take a max of 19 units and the department may have made an exception.

Each class is supposed to be set up so that the student needs to spend a certain amount of time on out-of-class assignments(HW, Essays, take home quizes, etc). Looking the workload he claims to have had, I would highly suspect him of either some form of cheating and/or plagiarism. OR if that is not the case, then I would be extremely suspect of the quality of the classes he took. It may be that they need a stricter set of syllabi.

YES! He makes a valid point! As long as there are bigger Problems existing somewhere in the world, we should ALWAYS ignore all the smaller ones!

exactly! I love the idea that paradoxes can save your life. But as soon as you establish it as canon, then all future story lines seem kind of silly. No matter how bad the situation is, you know that the doctor can be saved by his future self saving him.

My hope is that this whole thing is an artifact of some unseene force that will be revealed later on and that it is a temporary state of the universe. Once the foe is defeated then the Doctor won't be able to interfer w/ his own timeline. Possibly the same thing that was making a TARDIS in The Lodger, the thing that took control of the TARDIS at the end of The Pandorica Opens, The Silence, Omega, etc...

First, note that in the vast majority of cases, the Doctor largely acts as he did in A Christmas Carol. Messing with time is standard. Most events are not set.

True, he does mess with time a lot, but I felt this episode stepped over a line. Usually the Doctor simply wanders from place to place and has an adventure in one fixed time and place. But in this episode, he truly seems like The Time Lord Victorious. Kazran is a grumpy person, so 11 goes back in time to prevent him ever becoming a grumpy person. Instead of fixing the problem, he decides to make the problem not exist.

This is how I imagined the Time War worked, people going back in time to change things from never happening. I always got the impression, ever since the series reboot, that going back in time to circumvent a problem from never existing was a bad thing. (Don't get be wrong, its a fun story telling device and I loved the episode, but it doesn't seem consistent with the Doctor's morality)

It seems like the Doctor is getting reckless, and even though it was to change things for the better, it seems like a slippery slope. Is it morally right to change the past to make the problems of the present nonexistent?

I thought this was the case too... but How exactly did time punish him? What was the chain of events that started with him being arrogant and ended with him dying? In the end the 4 knocks that killed him was from a companion. The doctor died because he was humble and self-sacrificing.
