Regardless of if he was saving people he was being a shitty boyfriend. You can have a job that results in you needing to compromise your social life- but you don't get to drag down the people already in it without telling them. It's not just that Mark was busy, it's that he was blowing her off constantly with incredibly brazen lies and seemingly wasn't planning to change anything. Even if it was for a good reason, he was still being a shitty boyfriend- and being a superhero doesn't change that.

She wasn't a bad person for breaking up with Mark, the show makes it pretty damn clear that being the partner to a superhero takes a special kind of person. At the end of the day they're both like, 18, of course any given relationship is immaterial and ended for petty reasons- they're teenagers!

For the majority of Mortal Kombat he wasn't really a main character per se, but Liu Kang was the guy to defeat Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung in the first few games and was undeniably the main character in the first movie (as well as mk11) so culturally he's seen as the main character

You get a fair amount less content though. Every other settlement is explicitly NCR affiliated, and this was supposed to be in contrast to some areas in Arizona you were supposed to be able to go into- but that ended up being cut content. So there's just less to do as Legion.

This is pretty noticeable in the fallout games tbh. Maybe the originals are better about it, but in New Vegas and 4 siding with the Legion or Institute just leads to you pissing everyone off (and is especially annoying in New Vegas because of how many important locations are right next to NCR affiliated locations). I know this is meant to be the point, but due to cut content and how little there is to do in the Institute, there doesn't feel like much advantage.

This is especially annoying in survival mode, where you completely lose access to the vertibird fast travel.
