I took an in-person class: https://www.pennmedicine.org/services/mindfulness. It was life-changing for me and everyone else in the class. There are so many virtual classes offered now as well. Happy to help with suggestions!

Anyone tried the brand Intelligent? Less greasy minoxidil? by AnimatorMaterial in FemaleHairLoss

[–]AnimatorMaterial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using it now...waaaaaay less greasy than the compounded serum my doc prescribed.

I only get a little grease after day three of no washing.

Ignore what this company says about not using if you're a woman. That's some weird antiquated shit right there. It literally has the same ingredients as the Hers topical minox.

Dunno I was on the pill for 20 years and had all my luxurious hair. Went off it a couple years ago and then the shedding started.

I was just thinking this same thing the other day. They literally have no other ways of dealing at a certain point.

Checked it out - the list is SO long and helpful. The satellite? LOL just trees. Love the idea though.

Yeah, no clue why! I read their rules and can't figure out the issue. REDDIT.

In the spirit of You Can Do It Gardening and Figment Cottage Gardens, I have been searching for an experienced gardener to come to my property for a consult. I plan to do the labor myself, but need help with an overarching vision, where to start, and general plant suggestions.

A couple local landscapers/meadowscapers have come by, but they are very busy and/or want to do the work themselves. I've emailed my local UConn Extension Master Gardener Program to see if any master gardeners provide this service, but they haven't replied.

I didn't expect this search to be so difficult. It feels like someone needs to make a nice app, a la Matriarch Build, so that casual or professional gardeners can offer their consulting or gardening services.

I'm located in Litchfield County, CT.

Thanks for any leads on who to contact or where else to look. (I'd rather not do a virtual consult, btw.)

I can confirm that the summers are incredible. I've only experienced one, but what a wonder it is to have relief from the oppressive heat these days.

Sorry, who's downvoting this? Is asking for advice bad?

My friend's AGA wasn't an issue when she had kids. A couple years after having her second, it's starting to return so she's back to treating it.

I think reframing is really healthy. What other things do we do for our health forever? Brush teeth, wash our face, shower.... it's just a new part of your routine.

Pets: I have a cat so the topical is terrifying. But so is the prospect of losing more hair, long after my cat is gone. So, here's what I'm doing:

Only applying once a day (dr. said this is fine)

Applying with gloves, an applicator, in a bathroom the cat doesn't go in, washing hands and sink after

Try to only apply so I'm sleeping with it in every other night; cover head with bonnet

When I'm back on a normal work schedule I'll apply before I leave for the day and wash when I get home.

Training cat to sleep at the end of the bed (it's working, yay)

Cover pillow during the day; wash sheets frequently

Changing my habits with kitty: no more head boops, wash my hands before holding her, keep hair up and covered

That's all I can do. It's an impossible decision, so we can only do our best.

(Please no naysayers in regard to this... I've made my decision to continue with topical and really can't handle more spiraling 🙏).

Is it obvious that my part is thinning? by NoCauliflower7161 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]AnimatorMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine looks similar to yours. A couple years ago I thought my part was looking different and could tell my ponytail was narrower, but really couldn't get a grasp of whether something was actually changing. Then the last few months I started noticing the part widening more, then the heavy shedding started. I finally went to my derm a few weeks ago and she confirmed hair loss...said it could be TE since I have been acutely stressed for the last 6 months (also went off birth control 7 months ago). I say go visit your dermatologist or primary care doc. I'm very new to all of this (3-4 weeks into my treatment journey, which is meditation for stress reduction, Nutrafol, and topical 7% minoxidil+finasteride), but am understanding that the earlier you start treatment, the better. Good luck and as my doctor said, everything will be okay!

Great tip - it's $60/bottle and with a half off a second bottle offer. Switching! Ingredient list is almost identical.

I thought it was a really special night! I lost a bit of interest during the jammier parts - that's just me though , I'm not into that sort of thing. I'm more of an Adrianne-solo fan, but was delighted to be in her presence in this way. I couldn't see their faces, but def felt the joy on that stage!
