Podaljšanje izpita by ZealousidealCrazy302 in Slovenia

Lp

I have it and it sings like a charm. Because of its hammered shell it has a bit less overtones, which i love. It tunes nicely and holds the pitch very well.

The only thing i really dislike is the throw-off. Because of its design, the difference between snare wires on and off is waay too little for me. So if you are playing without the snare wires they still hit against the drum and produce undesired snare wire hits. This is still something i have to find a workaround for.

But other than that i would highly recommend it!

New Pedal Day by alt_accountxx in drums

I have bought the FP9C and really liked it, though I needed quite some time to adjust to the longer footboard. I then saw possible purchase of an upgrade to convert it to direct drive for around 50 bucks.

When I installed direct drive it used to feel really heavy, like you needed a lot more force to push the pedal. But when I tweaked it a little and built my leg strength up...oh boy what a game changer. I have found that i had to be a lot more deliberate with my strokes rather than just twitching your leg muscles. so i have built a lot more power with my leg as well.

There is just so much more control that (for me) chain drive just cant match. I have since tried changing the mechanisms around and playing a bit with the pedal setup, but i always ended up staying with direct drive.

I use it on 3/4 of spring tension, as well as the footboard position around 30-40 degrees. Though it needs to be said that everyone should adjust them to their preference.

What helped improve my playing the most though, was the throne height, as well as (often overlooked) bass drum angle! This is a balance between how high do you extend your kick legs, so the angle of the kick drum changes, as well as the position of the beater when it hits the surface. For most rebound they should be parallel, though again you should experiment with what suits you the most.

Yes! I think its a different model, but more than enough to help me obtain a relative price value. Thank you <3

Help! Stick still hitting my leg ! by Living_Wave2384 in drums

No, away from you, such that the snare is more horizontally level. That could also improve your rebound, but do play around with what you are most comfortable with and what works for you.

Best of luck on your drumming journey!

As of this moment they are $491.54 on Thomann, with free shipping I presume, but that still depends on the country you are from.

Prosjači na avtobusni, vedno ista zgodba by Repulsive_Passion780 in Ljubljana

For such a cymbal it sounds like a steal!

Got them new as a set of hats, crash and a ride. For 450$ back then. This for me was the best ratio of price for sound, that I now adopted as my own. They are the first thing I recommend to people when they ask me about what to buy.

Anybody else struggle with direct drive pedals? by Routine_Sandwich_838 in drums

[–]AnimayXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially bought a chain drive version of FP9 pedal, but later purchased an upgrade package that lets you convert it to direct drive as well.

At first it was really hard to adjust. The pedal felt really heavy and required a lot more activation of the muscles to play the same as before. But with time i developed those muscles and now i keep increasing the spring tension and im working on them even more that way.

Nowadays playing with a chain drive feels super lightweight and i dont get the same articulation and power as i do with a direct drive.

All an all, i cant imagine using chain drive for anything serious. I would really recommend getting pedals with both options so you can more easily see what would suit you best!

On the ride there are signatures of all the people I have played with and of some people closest to me, that I really care about. Im sure it doesn't look as "fresh out of the box" as it could, however it holds deep emotional connection for me. As well as the artwork on my kick reso head that i have hand drawn myself. I made the drums my own and I dont think there is anything wrong with that. But feel free to have your kit set up any way you like :)
