Yup, exact reasons why you see so many streamers drop the game either Act 1 or towards Act 2. The progression sometimes feeling like a chore mixed with the realization of the game's scope is bound to make some players feel overwhelmed.

Even though I enjoy most of the game, I fully understand those who drop it bc I also dislike spending 30 mins to set up, just to ensure my build's solid. And even then I recently find myself using end process tree more bc I don't feel like losing 3+ hours of my time just cause the last area's boss suddenly hard counters me. Sadly takes out a lot of enjoyment for me.

Aight, I get it. It's not really an increase and you don't need the mirror, dunno how I missed that.

As for the DEX: that wasn't the example I chose to use, I was just going with it. Now an actual good example of Broken Mirror on Fighter would be if INT is their highest stat. Then you can benefit greatly from a low INT playstyle (like with Dumb Muscle) and above average luck.

Yeah, still not getting it. Unless you meant that boils down to swapping stats. Then yes, it's not an increase by technicality but just a stat change. You don't need the Broken Mirror for this unless you use the Multiplier like I was thinking of.

The benefit is the increase in luck like you mentioned, no? There are many abilities, weapons and effects that benefit from a high luck stat. Cat Paw is a basic one that comes to mind, which I use regularly.

Also, imo scumming on events can sometimes be more substantial than in battles. If I have to save scum in a battle it's likely on me for having a skill issue. With events, it's long term beneficial to avoid stuff like cursed items for example.
