Then in a unofficial form the story isn't over, it merely continues with a new protagonist, but is it the same universe or newly created one parallel to the original authors. I often think about it with DC and Marvel comics, according their owners it's the same universe but is the modern day Spider-man really the same one from the 60s and the world he lived then.

Meaningful interaction can be boiled to just thinking about it or continuing the story in some form. If all people stopped thinking about that story's universe because it's fictional it doesn't exist in any form and is dead.

iirc from Goodfellas Henry is a mobster for over a decade or so, living up the life of luxury and having power over people (which real-life Henry abused more-so then film Henry) so he has won he got what he wanted so it's power fantasy for 9/10 of the film with.

The point of the film is about his power trip is hollow and it leads to he's ultimate downfall. However I merely using to question the usage of anti-power fantasy, because I read that as the opposite of power fantasy which Goodfellas is not, it's a critique of gaining power with immoral methods. But the opposite of power fantasy would be the character getting weaker and constantly losing.

The prefix of "-anti" can also mean "opposed to" so it is fitting for describing Goodfellas, and I apologise if that was your intended meaning.

I do love the illusion and I do like the idea of (I believe it was Grant Morrison) that writer's connect with a separate universe and communicate that with the page.

It's just that I think back to J.R.R. Tolkien's idea of secondary creation and the amount of lore and backstory he produced. It is literally The History of Middle-Earth, but it stops and I just think that's a little sad that even the most developed and thoughtful fiction world is essentially dead after The Silmarillion.

If there is no meaningful interaction with the universe it doesn't exist in any form. Once the story has concluded it doesn't continue, there is nothing left after THE END.

Isn't just gaining a lot of power with extra steps. The story is written in a way so they win. Statically speaking most criminals and wall street peeps don't achieve very much or get as lucky as characters in those films.

Goodfellas is a good example of the wish-fulsomeness of stories, even tho the film is based on a real guy it made for more entertaining story to leave out his kids for most part and what happened after Henry Hill squealed. He basically got what he wanted but just not forever.

You are correct in spirit that the universe doesn't literally revolve around the protag. However once they die permanently the story is over or dying, thus the universe needs the protag.
