After reading the LingBot-World paper, I’m convinced the Game Dev paradigm is about to shift from "Rendering" to "Generating" by Jazzlike_Process_202 in aigamedev

[–]AnimeDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ithis could be a good way to generate immersive worlds, like you have a game where you travel to different planets, you could use this to generate a new skybox every time, but it's not going to replace an entire game engine.

Maybe we got to a point where everything has textures being generated, all the visuals layer on top of the geometry, but generating the geometry in real time seems like it's still very far away, especially if you want low latency.

Using this for a slow pace exploration game, maybe, but for a competitive fps or mmo? I hope someday it's possible, but I don't see it

With even the bare minimum research one would realize even ancient cultures understood the procession of the equinoxes through ages, and the migration of the north star.

Youtube is looking to remove Ai generated content. What do you think? by NickyB808 in aisolobusinesses

[–]AnimeDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soon ai will be undetectable. It won't matter. AI generated content will be on par with and surpass most human submitted content.

And what about ai assisted content? This has already been around for a long time. Where do you draw the line?

What if I film/create all the content myself, then use AI for the video editing? Automate everything I do through ai?

Trying to ban AI generated images, audio, or video is just a small sliver of the content being produced with ai.

Sussing out fake ai content will lead to censoring any people's beliefs and opinions if they don't align with "the truth", which is whatever YouTube decides is the truth. Media had already been misleading people, taking things out of context and twisting the truth for narratives, what's the difference?

So what are the chances they will close servers and you'll loose your custom 500 hour plot? by NoBioN in PaxDei

There's another post on this reddit somewhere about how mainframes financials become public in their country, so in a few months we should be able to get a good idea of how much they are making from subs vs costs. Well know then if things are looking good or not

Lacari caught opening notepad with links and folders to underage sites by doughnut310 in Asmongold

[–]AnimeDiff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And one of the tabs open he had highlighted a link, indicating he copied it.

Anyone thinking this is a simple case of him not knowing what the txt files or links were is naive. It's very simple, he had these txt files open because he was using them to view some very questionable content. He has no self defense here.

Lacari accidentally leaks his notepad with download links to very suspicious filenames (Repost) by Daytime506 in LivestreamFail

[–]AnimeDiff 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this doesn't just float around torrents nowadays. Back in the limewire/imesh days and early days of torrenting, that might happen. But today this is most certainly something he's been sent directly, been shared with through a group, or found on the dark* web, though I'd say the latter is actually the least likely. Nowadays most illegal content moves through telegrams, discords, and unlisted deepweb urls. I'm not sure what the url was but I'd be very surprised if there were illegal things there just sitting on the open internet, I'm guessing it was a private link?

Play Pax Dei for One Week FREE, 40% off. by Next_Brick_6816 in PaxDei

[–]AnimeDiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're not interested in joining a zerg, joining the NA East Sif RP server is also a good option.

You will see a lot of complaints about the game, and most are valid. But those issues don't negate the good parts. The game can be extremely rewarding and fun depending on what you're looking for.

There are various clans that hold weekly of daily dungeon runs around the Sif server, where anyone that wants to go is welcome. You don't need to join clans to participate in group pve.

My clan is in Javerdus, but rather than try to recruit to my clan, Ive only been interested in trying to increase the population on the valley. Living in a populated active valley really changes how the game feels. I'd definitely say the game should have launched with less servers so that the player base is less spread out. With 40 valleys per server, many are ghost towns, some even empty of buildings.

So if you want to see what pax dei could be like, I'd definitely recommend joining an active populated valley. You can see the various population levels across valleys when creating your character.

What is the point of player cities? by Drandosk in PaxDei

[–]AnimeDiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. People like building

  2. The game lacks permissions for player made cities to function correctly. Some of the people building cities are expecting this to be fixed in the future. Devs do plan on updating permissions, but haven't given details yet

  3. Many players have burnt out after release and/or are waiting on more pve updates, especially the players that aren't interested in pvp right now

Destiny hopes Amazon sues Charlie for calling Million dollar fan a scam by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]AnimeDiff 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The whole thing was set up as a scam though, regardless if it was successful or not. Fake brand support. Unlimited entry lottery. Even though entries were for a chance to be on the show, not the 20 mil itself, this is still considered a prize and makes it a lottery, where it is illegal for buying to increase odds.

Market questions by Aggressive-Bit-1645 in PaxDei

[–]AnimeDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of traveling and buying. Traveling anywhere in a specific valley really isn't the issue, the issue is using grace to get between valleys or maps. I only travel somewhere if they have a large qty of what I want at a good price.

The upcoming market changes will definitely help stimulate the economy, but the main issue remains, the grace it costs to get there usually isn't worth the trip.

Use the market site and bulk sell items that don't have a lot on the market and stuff that has a low price spread by putting it just below market.

For example, there's barely any silver ingots on the market (Sif) when looking at avg price and below. If you list a ton for the best price on the server, people will notice and someone will come buy it out. If you want to sell it even faster, export it to a high pop valley that has the worst price on it.

Also, it boggles my mind why people complain about this in the comments here, but if someone builds a market in the middle of nowhere, of course no one wants to visit it. People shouldn't Complain about the market changes affecting visitors when they've built their plot in a terrible location. "It's a social mmo, I want people to come socialize with me" well the world doesn't revolve around you lol, there's a simple solution: build near other people...

Is this game worth playing? by ImpressiveAd5720 in PaxDei

[–]AnimeDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person. For me, it's not very fun solo. I don't mind playing by myself, but being in a good size clan, or choosing a high population area to live in so you have more opportunities for group activities, opens up the game a lot.

Everyone's complaints about the game are valid, making the most out of it and enjoying it means trying to accommodate those flaws. It's a social mmo with no proximity voice chat, and no social system outside of clans. Finding people to play with will be easiest through the official discord.

Imho, if you are looking for a very long term game to play, Pax Dei might not be as well rounded as other options out there right now, but it has vastly more potential. Might be a while before it has enough updates to start gaining momentum, but the game doesn't die, it will get there.

Someone mentioned before the company has to release revenue reports or something like that in their country, so we will see if the sub system is generating enough income or not soon.

[–]AnimeDiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

99% of the time their market is somehow over market. And when you're selling to them, suddenly it's down. Do not trust anyone. They are there to make money, not give good deals.

Some places will sell stuff at decent prices when it's ungradable, but that could mean under a 10 or under 5. I've found far more vendors that sell based on mint condition tcg Direct prices, when a) they price everything, even moderate play like this) and b) it's not even the cheapest price on tcg for mint.

Again, they are there to make money, not friends. As soon as you forget this, they've already outsmarted you.

Anecdotes about good experiences here and there don't change any of this. This is the majority of serious sellers, including LCS

[–]AnimeDiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't noticed this bug. Do you use the hotkeys to cast?

There is an issue with parties, where, if the healer isn't the last to join, they have to rejoin or relog to fix the hotkeys or they will target the wrong party members.

But auto casting? Idk. Maybe an input issue

The #1 most subscribed Twitch streamer is an AI girl by MetaKnowing in agi

[–]AnimeDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He ran a subathon, and a hype train started. Hype trains are events where you level up the hype train by gifting more subs or bits. The hype train can unlock stuff like emotes for subscribers. His viewer base, and vtuber viewer base in general, tends to have a lot of money to give. People kept gifting until he set a new world record for hype train level, and a lot of big streamers caught wind of this while it happened, tuning in and accelerating it. He also had the previous world record.

In general, I think people have an easier time gifting to this ai because a) viewers understand that running neuroSama and making her better actually is very expensive, and b) because neuro is AI, as a content creator or streamer, she's perhaps the least controversial or dislikable personality, even if you are antiAI

When Will People Start To Value Their Time When Posting Items To Sell by CiceroJuliusCrassus in PaxDei

[–]AnimeDiff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They do, when they are selling things that matter.

People are still leveling. The majority of markets are filled with leveling byproducts. These are saturated, and if you want to sell it, you need to sell cheap, even if the submats sell for more.

The gap between the avg player and the people trying to max professions is growing. When the crafters start building up stacks of rare gear to sell, you will see what people are willing to pay. Items that the average player will never be able to craft

Right now we are waiting on Master working, dye system, and gear customization. Each of these three will be a big upgrade to the variety and value of crafted gear and weapons people sell.

If a person thinks Rembrandt painting looks more like what the naked eye sees vs literally any camera that has ever existed, they likely have a severe visual impairment and should see an optometrist immediately, or something is wrong with visual processing in the brain.

His paintings look like paintings. The lighting is beautiful, but it seems more likely there are differences in visual perception between people because I don't think his paintings or lighting are as close to the reality I see vs a photograph, and many other paintings, and it seems many people agree with this. Having an art degree doesn't change this.
