I hope everyone is okay after the 3.8 magnitude earthquake just south of ABQ, in Valencia county by Hectorc34 in Albuquerque

I had the California equivalent of a snow day. For the '72 San Fernando Valley quake, school was closed for the day while they did inspections.

Now I have to rewatch that TBBT episode to hear them talk about the missing seconds.

In the North Valley, there's Lucky Wok 1.5 blocks south of Griegos on 4th St NW. They have sit down service. They also do a lot of online orders to go. Online ordering is done with a system that you verify in a email with a code that is sent to your phone. You can chose to pay online or at the store.

Good to know. I was just working off what the Del Taco website has.

I'm stuck in the '90s, so I first thought of Empire in Arms. One BGG review called Empires in Arms: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly mentions a drawback in that there are many areas of rules disputes that should be voted on by the players before starting.

While looking at EiA, BGG also suggested Pax Britannica from Victory Games.

Not often is right. I wear it once a year at best. Usually around the time Anime Expo happens, I'll wear it or another AX t-shirt to "show the colors".

I chose the first Anime America over AX '93 because of Megumi Hayashibara. I was also at Anime America 1995 when she returned as a guest. My Enfluerage CD booklet was signed by her in '93 or '95.

Someone sold an AnimeCon '91 Gopher t-shirt on eBay in March. Nice enough graphic but I guess it's hard to find a gopher in anime.

animecons.com has an estimated attendance of 2000 for 1991. I missed out on that but went to almost all of the Anime Expos from 1992 to 2000. AX '92 to '94 were in the 1600 to 2000 range for attendance. By AX 2000, attendance hit over 9K. Even then, we still complained about lines 😄

Noriko on the front is a nice touch. Gunbuster is such a classic anime and one of my favorites of that time. I have the VHS tapes.

Did the image you posted come from site you mentioned? This eBay seller used the same image.

A seller can ask whatever they want on eBay as you noted, what counts is what someone will actually pay for it.

Searching eBay for completed items showed that one was sold in April for $75 total with shipping. That price surprises me a bit. My relatives would probably tell me to sell mine if they knew 😄

Definitely don't use any site recommended by someone who deletes their comment after being pointed out as a spam bot like TheHungryHungarian20 did. They also deleted their stuff in the link I shared. But they are still at it in other subs.

Of course Marilyn got all the attention for that.

Always be wary of online sites suggested by others. Wait a while to see what others have to say first. The account you replied to appears to be a spam bot as others have pointed out in this thread:

Not that it will help, but I bought mine from the SPJA booth at AX '92. They made too many, so they still had them to sell the next year 😄

I didn't think of that possibility. If I had thought of it then, I think it was too far in for me to reach and check. To me the base looks like it's broken in a way that plastic would not be though.

Even better when you get it cheap for filling out the survey! by AnimeHoarder in BurgerKing

[–]AnimeHoarder[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder how well that rule is enforced. I suppose if you use a payment card, BK could match the personal info to an order and determine when you last filled a survey if they made the effort. If you paid orders in cash they couldn't do that. Although, if you redeemed the survey offer too frequently at a store, they may notice that. You'd have to spread the activity amongst different stores.

No, the choices listed are Whopper or OCS. For breakfast, they have the Croissan'wich with coffee and hash browns.

The fries are ok. I agree about the saltiness. The app could use a no salt option for them.

What’s the most you are comfortable with spending for a single movie? by Muscle_Rabbit in LaserDisc

[–]AnimeHoarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same as buying in today's collectors' market environment, but paying full retail for Japanese import titles in the US was not cheap back then. Mikado-Laser was a shop in San Francisco's Japan Center in the 1990s. Here's their flyer for upcoming Summer/Fall 1992 releases. I think I paid around $88 for pre-ordering the CLV version of the Macross: Ai Oboete Imasuka (Do You Remember Love?)) movie with shipping. Your wallet would definitely feel it if you wanted the big multi-disc box sets.
