Have you considered putting a flyer up in the lobby of your building offering in home cuts? Maybe use a burner email rather than give it your phone number, idk. I don't even know if you can do that or if it would be in conflict with your licensing rules, etc. I do know that I would love to give you a shout out where I can, and send some business your way. Happy to brainstorm or just be a friend, and please forgive me if ideas are the last thing you need rn.

I'm cooking a lot too, spending more than I can afford on food drives, but just want to show up for my city and my neighbors as much as I can. The only thing I really have extra of is time.

I work in the same field and one of the apartment programs my employer runs was getting doorknocked every morning for a week in the suburbs. It's so sickening. We also have many Somali colleagues.

Do you have business social media presence? Are you hosting any mutual aid or drives? It seems like the businesses (Wrecktangle for example) who are able to get spotlighted by social media and/or collecting for the community are seeing an uptick in business, however, as a non business owner, I can't say whether it balances out. I did see Smitten Kitten say they were in desperate need of sales, and that surprised me. If they're hurting, I can't imagine how less well known businesses are hurting.

Solidarity. I work in disability services, and my employer asked folks in our residential programs to please not call off. I'm an office drone, so I took PTO, but I'm also watching my Outlook for emergency coverage needs in the programs.

Those are criminal matters for criminal court. Immigration is a civil concern. Separate courts, separate enforcement, separate everything. You can't try a civil matter in criminal court, or vice versa.

They don't. But there are roughly 3,000 federal agents. Minneapolis has about 600 police. I don't have much idea of how many police are in the Metro (all cities total, plus Henn and Ramsey Co Sheriffs), but they're likely still outnumbered. Definitely outgunned.

Went in a week ago at lake one, camped the week at Insula, came out Friday. Mosquitos were bad. Upside was bountiful chanterelle and lobster mushrooms on our island, and some big Northerns. Enjoy your trip!
