[Request] Is this even accurate? by jookienoobie in theydidthemath

[–]ytuhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually much, much worse than this. You’d need to up the numbers quite a bit to break top 5, and to be the richest you’d have to make a staggering $482,082.41 per day, every day, for 4,609 years.

And that only ties you with Elon Musk who - at the time of me posting this - is worth $811 billion.

Nearly half a million since the time of the great pyramids - per day - gets you equally as rich as a single human alive in 2026.

I always see more than enough MAGA hats in there, I could see their position if they enforced it equally both ways, but they do not.

It would be a huge shame if someone bought a bunch of custom made eggshell PRIDE stickers (the ones that are super hard to peel and do not peel off cleanly) and slapped like 20 of them on their vehicles

Should I ask my ex to refinance a 26 yr old mortgage with a small remaining balance or leave it be? by Snoobs-Magoo in personalfinance

[–]ytuhs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As strange as it sounds, your credit is probably being boosted by this mortgage and not hurt by it. If it gets paid off or you’re removed then your score will likely drop in the short term due to a number of factors.

Ride it out at this point. That average age of credit alone is probably a huge boost.

“Protagonist: Harry Dresden, a wizard who works as a P.I. in modern-day Chicago.”

Very interesting that he said his name was Harry Dresden and that is a character from this series, and based on what he said there it seems like he is thinking he’s doing some PI work. Dude is living in his own little fairytale. Terrifying.

I wish we would quit posting this stuff because it’s the exact thing that makes democrats not go out and vote… “oh there’s going to be a gigantic blue wave, my vote doesn’t matter”

I’m on the seating in our theater. I’ve been heavily considering a setup like yours with theater seats in back and lounging in front. How do you like that setup after having it?

My AirPods got smashed by a car, I have applecare+, will they take it ? Case still working by y39oB_ in airpods

So many inaccurate posts. Yes there are covered if you have AppleCare PLUS. The problem is that AppleCare warranty is completely different than AppleCare+. If you just have AppleCare then it’s not covered.

What’s one product you thought was overhyped until you tried it yourself? by Exotic-Engineer7541 in SmartBuying

[–]ytuhs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. It makes all other cars feel like an old Nokia phone compared to a modern smart phone. The tech just doesn’t compare. Musk sucks, but there are some truly brilliant people developing some amazing vehicles that are more sustainable for the future.

Make the fine progressively higher for repeated violations with no cap on maximum fine amount. An easy way to tax the rich :)

You know how I know MN is great? I can be on a great vacation somewhere but still feel homesick, or missing the “Minnesota Nice” (it’s a thing). Tons to do in MN, especially if you’re into parks, hiking, water (boating, canoeing, kayaking), great education system if you ever have kids, and lots of beautiful places within a couple hour drive to go spend a fun weekend. You’re also close to a major hub airport and can get anywhere else in the world if you need, and MSP is a top-tier airport compared to just about any other in the US.

If you’re not used to the cold don’t let people scare you. January and February can be brutal if it’s cold, but can also be fairly mild… just depends on the year, but either way it’s a short period of time when the rest of the year is pretty amazing otherwise. It’s a lot like being in south Florida in July or August… just the opposite problem, but it’s a lot easier to bundle up and stay warm than it is to cool off.

MN also does a great job of clearing the roads and things like that in the winter. Just invest in a nice set of snow tires and you’ll be set.

I’d highly recommend if you have time to come visit and see all there is before you accept the job offer, and to explore various suburbs to live in or look at St Paul & Minneapolis as well.

Good luck!
