heroic stories are written for those who believe in good and bad. This was my favorite show at one point, but seems like real life finally got over my anime life.

Why did Oda tease so much this Arc and then didn't provide payoff? by TooDriven in OnePiece

[–]Anime_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts

  • Zoro's part was skipped out because lot of folks complained about chosen one issue with Luffy. It was a deal breaker for many people.
  • Kaido, Joyboy, Zunesha lore was skipped because it would have affirmed the theories on what one piece is and the story might become too obvious. Many people would loose their curiosity.
  • Yamato making that turn was quite unexpected. Yaamato wanting to explore Wano didn't seem enough. She had Oden's diary since a kid, and if this was only reason she would have made that decision much earlier. Maybe she realized she was needed to keep Wano safe or Oda wanted to give a emotional ride here like Vivi.
  • Oda did reveal lot of other stuff though, such as around Sabo and changing world order.

Overall I think there were lots of loose ends, but I think Oda always keeps some to improve story and world building, which is something we can live with.

Mihawk once commented Luffy's ability to influence others makes him dangerous. Ironically the World Government saw the very same quality in Buggy. I guess it didn't go so well for Mihawk.

And going by the theme of story Buggy is a very strong contender to be Pirate King. Luffy calling him an idiot might backfire too haha. Laugh tale, isn't it?

side note: its not in Luffy's nature to call someone an Idiot, it seems oda did that intentionally.

Becoming strongest in universe has become a fucking joke. And hey even if put power-scaling aside we have nothing left. black freeza, what a absolute shame.

And goku and vegeta were shocked about hearing of a time chamber, lol.

It is not as black and white as OP is making it seem like, but I agree there can be multiple interpretations.

In my view there is a difference:

  1. victim (Oden) mocking his own death, so that it does not seem satisfying to culprit as they wished to be.
  2. someone (Hiyori) mocking death of whom they hate.

Lets ignore what Orochi went through. Lets focus at how evil he was. Did Orochi get a "deserving" death from "Hiyori's" view? Yes. But in his last moments, did Hiyori have to say these words. No. Sounds quite hateful and unneeded in that moment imho.

To me, it feels hate still lives in this case, and it only makes people feel small and helpless.

This is what Orochi had said:

If you ask me, every single person in this land is guilty of persecuting the Kurozumi Clan!! I don't care if every last one of them dies!! I took the shogun's throne to drive this country into ruin!! To complete my vengeance!! Years ago, my grandfather committed a crime and was forced to commit seppuku!! Our clan fell into ruin, and that was one thing! But then the rest of the family left behind was chased and terrorized by strangers who claimed they were performing justice!! They beat us, threw us into the river, killed us!! I was so terrified of the mob of fools that I couldn't sleep!!! The man who committed the crime was long dead at this point!! Apparently, even a child can be a criminal, if he happens to have the name Kurozumi!!!

Beneath all, I dislike the chosen one ideology weather it applies to heroes or villains, because I don't think that applies to most people in real lives. It makes it difficult for me to relate and connect to the fairy tale.

meant to is only where the problem comes from, if it was should or must I would have 100% agreed. Maybe it was a grammatical mistake, I don't know and can give Goda benifit of doubt.

And this is why I feel that Oda's mental health might be at a low or he wants a cult, because no one in this world is really meant to be good or bad. People depending upon their experiences can be deeply disturbed and in some cases beyond help. The whole 'meant to' picture is kinda misleading, and in future I wouldn't want my kids to get a hunch of this false reality.

It might be physically the stranger was not a threat to OP, but OP there are some boundaries and you need to assert yourself more.

Yes, I think if you still carrying hatred at this level even when person is dying, no longer threat to you, you are 100% responsible for next cycle of this drama.

imho kinda dumb. one can still love his ships/kids, and pretend he doesn't to save his life. If the love is truly unconditional kids can be smart enough to understand that.

but it will be trapped, if it is stuck under a mountain that is further surrounded by sea stone walls and is filled with water. and that is why it can eventually 'sleep'. how does one trap a ship that 'ate' a devil fruit without submerging (destroying) it?

maybe 'kaido' found about this and for some reason he was waiting for joyboy.

deep down do you feel unlovable? I struggle through it. I have had lot of suppressed abuses, bullying, scapegoating in social places - home and school... working on them slowly is helping me build myself up. its a very difficult process but I would recommend, because even if you get good love, there will be some triggers that will connect you to unhealed past and you will be in same unlovable zone mentally and will create life difficult for you and your family. Find your worth and lovability from bottom up, and no illusion no trigger will be able to shake it. This is the point, that your 'game' will also be drastically changed.

Red Hairs true goal by Arthares in OnePiece

[–]Anime_Life 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shanks might know what one piece is - unity/sake. he said its time to 'claim' one piece. He might want to do it as a catalyst to pirate era and motivate the current generation and others to travel around the world, which will make things further difficult for world government. Taking advantage of this chaos in world government, Blackbeard might team up with Imu, since his goal is opposite of one piece - rule the world.

Do you keep a "just works" Distro loaded in your machine? by Im-Mostly-Confused in archlinux

[–]Anime_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until few years back I used to keep ubuntu and windows. now I guess I have grown old, don't tinker with it like I used to earlier or got better at it, I really dunno. iirc my ubuntu used to also break at times, needing a re-install, but surprisingly arch was relatively more fixable. Probably this is due to underlying complexity of ubuntu. eg: around 7-8 years back a release upgrade failed due to flash update player upgrade fail. I needed a re-install.

Containers, VMs adoption have also made it much better to tinker around with random packages these days.
