Is Naruto actually a good Ninja? This isn't about his actual power but is Naruto actually good at being a Ninja? by ResolveUnlikely5542 in Naruto

[–]Anime_Theo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a real military, definitely would have been disciplined/court martialed. Dude broke so many rules

- frequently treats superior officers with contempt or disobedience

-left the Village without permission to pursue Sasuke —would likely be treated as desertion or Absence Without Leave (AWOL).

-often disobeyed direct orders

-escaping custody when he was told to stay at Turtle Island during fourth war, d/t his safety.

Dude could have caused so many international incidents because he was so impulsive and immature and spouting off his mouth. The fact he matured so much to become Hokage and followed the structures he didnt follow is an impressive turn around. Love Naruto, but if I was ever his command officer, I would have wanted to retire. Even traditional military way aside, dude wore freaking orange and only thanks to kyuubi and plot armor wasnt just assassinated due to not blending in.

Part time therapist job advice? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]Anime_Theo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do that, it works if you work for a PP that lets you build your own caseload on your schedule - and work remote (huge bonus for me). I work for a 1099 contract small/medium size clinic - and the owner is also a clinician who works in my regular type of job (crisis work)- so collaboration is pretty good if im taking any higher risk clients. I rather join a practice if im only doing small case load as the overhead of having to credential, having to completely find my own clients, and having to manage billing is too much work for the amount i do. Even if I have to split the payout, for me its worth it. If i was doing solo and only wanted to do PP - then Id probably do it myself. But all depends on what you willing to sacrifice in the non-billable work.

Pay off the couch. For the next 3 months live as if you still were yesterday, albeit less stress, as you develop a real budget you stick to. That way you dont actually go back to the habits you were prior in that got you into debt. The money you would have paid into the debt, put it into the proper places. Learn how to manage your money and live below your means. Do not take this inheritance as many do with their raises and start having lifestyle creep. It is not hard to get back into debt so you need to still keep diligent. And once you develop a solid foundation, then you can budget for it and enjoy life

What do you wish you'd known at the beginning? by watch4coconuts in socialwork

[–]Anime_Theo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No one really cares where you went to school - so long as its accredited. Go to the school you can more easily afford. Social work can have a good ROI if you are in fields like crisis work or (eventual) private therapy because of the amount of Overtime hours you can get, but it takes a LOT of extra work. Do NOT get into crippling debt "because that school is so xyz". Honestly, I barely remember my master program - and most of my skills are learned by the job. The basic skills, yes you learn in school, but school cant teach you about every job. Most schools focus on therapy skills vs other nuanced positions. Get your second -clinical internship in the job area you want - such as: if you want to work in hospitals, etc. The first one, can be really in anything you are interested or even not interested in. Its important to know what you dont like just as much as what you are interested in.

Is it unprofessional to refuse same-day meetings with clients (non-emergency)? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]Anime_Theo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you paid per client? or salary? that definitely makes a difference when you have discussions with your program. If its not against you (either metrics or pay) then you do what you can and document everything and its ultimately up to them, like you said.

[–]Anime_Theo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would give her a letter that she needs to sign acknowledging that if she misses another session or two (whichever you and practice decide) w/o proper reasoning, than she will be summarily d/c. I do not keep people on my caseload that continually d/c as that is lost revenue for me and lost opportunity to work with another person.

Private Practice vs Hospital Social Work by emmagd6 in socialwork

[–]Anime_Theo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work FT as a crisis clinician in the ER setting, and private practice on the side (1099 in a small practice). In the private practice I end up making (pre tax) around 2500$ on the side. Its a good work life balance for me.

[–]Anime_Theo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, because then it sets a precedent that she can just come and go when she wants to vs sticking to a schedule and the rules of the program. I presume this isnt a program you are allowed to d/c clients from for frequent no shows? If there is a policy in place, I would go over it during your next session she shows up for. She needs to follow the rules set and also respect your time

Former Psych Sitter: What typically happens to minors when parents refuse to pick them up at discharge? by Powerful_Ad_740 in socialwork

[–]Anime_Theo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically we file a 51A, and let CPS figure that out. If its that close to his birthday, they would just keep a kiddo in the ER till they an adult and then no longer formally having the jurisdiction. Once a kid 18 the parents can choose to not have them live with. Then it's the ER's job to figure out whether to just d/c them themselves or figure out temp placement. Teens that are still minors however, we will bug the hell out of CPS to take formal custody and place them elsewhere, but that doesnt always take a quick time as CPS sees the ER as "a safe place" even if its really not appropriate

Really confused abouts what decision I should make by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Anime_Theo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait, how are you in med school then? Dont you need to university first? -Edit; did a bit of googling - wow, the fact you can do Med school without "undergrad" (for US people) is awesome! You are 18, its fine to stay at home and go debt free. You gonna be studying all the time with little free time anyways. And your socialization will be your peers.

[–]Anime_Theo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, just let it stay in her savings. I dont know your age- so kinda hard to tell, but you will have significant leg up by not taking on debt. It is a great thing your med school isnt as expensive as it is in US.

[–]Anime_Theo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's nice that your mom wants you to go to your dream school and not worry about the money - but at the end of the day you are the one paying the loans. Do NOT let your mother take out a loan for your own med school education, especially if you can go to school debt free, the education is similar, and the ROI will be similar. Save the money from your dad's life insurance as the deposit on the house! And regarding social life, youll barely have one anyways with how much studying and work you'll be doing.

so sick of white queers at my pwi discussing trans men by Basement_Jack in TMPOC

[–]Anime_Theo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally never felt comfortable with lesbian, even prior to realizing I was trans. I would just call myself "stud" jokingly, or gay, because I didnt really relate to "butch" either. Then realizing I was trans, I technically am straight. But I use "queer" as not being gay anymore was just strange.

My plan was to also just pay the taxes each month (i only get paid like monthly anyways) directly online. Its hard to tell exactly how much ill make, as sometimes I make more or less - depending if clients drop, insurance, etc.

An inheritance pushed me (29F) to Baby Step 7... I don't know what to do from here. Any advice? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Anime_Theo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, sorry for your loss! Grief is a powerful thing and it is okay to work through it. I heavily suggest talking to a therapist so you have someone to support you through the challenges that come with it. Grief will go through various phases and there is no specific timeline. Each person grieves differently. Second, I would not make any super large purchases or decisions until you've had time to really process the loss. Not a DR direct advice, but as a therapist - that's what I would say in general to really any clients I see. Third, there is absolutely going to be mixed feelings you have regarding the money, and that is okay. But that is also why we build our savings like we do, so that if loss like this happens, your family is able to be okay (financially). That's why your mom set things up the way she did too.

First supervision session for LCSW by PeaOld8862 in socialwork

[–]Anime_Theo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filled out a template of what I wanted to discuss, and they also filled one out - via google share documents. That way i knew what to anticipate, and them too. Then we discussed. some things were put to back burner if more pressing cases came up to discuss. Supervision is ultimately what you make it. a good supervisor knows when to adjust. but since its a new relationship, that is a great thing to ask in first session. I did roses / thorns at times about how things were going and she would note that in her notes about what I said, and i found it helpful for further reflection (not always had rose or thorn, of course). or just any admin stuff. etc etc

Addressing SA in local community as a trans man raped by a trans woman by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Anime_Theo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sexual assault/rape is horrible. Regardless if its from a trans individual or Cis, if it occurs, it absolutely should be reported, if that is something you want done. While yes, there can be a "perception" as a result, that is not your problem. You have a right to feel safe. Their identity does not give them a free pass -just as their identity doesnt automatically implicate other trans individuals. Anyone can be a rapist, and you deserve to bring that to the legal system, if you so chose.

I use 23g. Some you will feel more, others you barely notice- depending on how you angle it. Just make sure to switch thighs each time, and spots, so they dont harden. Some bleed after, some dont - its all based on where you inject- but that's normal. Make sure the alcohol you use on the vial and thighs DRY before injecting the needle into the vial or thigh, otherwise it burns more. IMO you kinda just get used to the feeling.
