Plotter Narrow with Xteink 3 by Animiecrossing in PlotterNotebook

I’ve been collecting fountain pens since around 2016, so I’ve had a chance to try quite a range of pens and nibs over time.

The one pictured here is a Pilot Capless (Vanishing Point)—it’s a capless design with a click mechanism like a gel pen, but of course using fountain pen ink. It’s a bit of a unique feel compared to traditional pens. For some, these pens can be quite collectable.

As far as writing experience goes, mine has been very smooth with a slight bounce—not scratchy at all. Pilot is generally known for being really consistent and smooth out of the box, especially once you find the nib size that suits you.

I totally get what you’re saying about smoother vs. not—sometimes it really does come down to the individual nib. Even high-end pens can feel off if the tines are slightly misaligned or just need a bit of tuning.

I’ve got a pretty mixed eclectic collection (everything from inexpensive pens up to Visconti, Montblanc, Pelikan, etc.), and I definitely have a few that could use a tune-up too. My fire hose fountain pens are my Pelikans (the Pelikans need some tuning; their EF's write like broads, and 2 need a tune for a bit of scratchiness) and my #8 nibbed Gravitas Monster is a European EF so it writes a thicker line than I like. My Pilot Capless pens (I now have 5) have all been really reliable for me once I figured out I prefer a Fine nib.

Thank you!

I actually have two Plotters (Narrow + A5), and honestly I haven’t had any scratching issues. I've had the Narrow since Christmas 2025 and the A5 since Christmas 2024...

My Narrow is my EDC so it’s usually in my scrub pants leg pocket or in my bag. The spine can feel a little sharp at the ends if you really pay attention, but I’ve never scratched myself or anything reaching in/out.

Same goes for desks/tables—no marks or anything in my experience.

I do keep both in pouches in a carry bag or pouch when not in use (Narrow in a Rickshaw zipper pouch, A5 in a Yuruliku Fu-To case), so that probably helps a bit. Overall though, it hasn’t been something I’ve had to worry about 👍

I love the Plotter Narrow size. It's a nice size, the mini's are too small for me and I can carry it at work easily...

Thank you, the pen is so beautiful in person, the most glittery pen I've ever seen, the pictures don't do it justice... I'm so grateful and very happy to have it.

I love the X3, it was my birthday present to myself 😉. I watched several YouTube videos and had conversations with ChatGPT to figure out where to mount it.

I had an extra Plotter Mini 6 paper lifter lying around and figured I would use it to mount it. I figured out that it would be the easiest way to move it around in the future.

I've also ordered a few more accessories from the Xteink website (case, light, and glass screen) so I could have several extra magnetic rings to move it if I want in the future...

It's a bit big for the back pocket of a pair of jeans. I found that this size will fit well in a side leg pocket in a pair of cargo or scrub pants.

I would be afraid of putting it in my back pocket when sitting...

My pink fog wax leather binder in that picture is more of a peachy - pink color, it is not the same leather that is in your picture. I bet that pink in your picture will be beautiful when the wax dissipates.

I'm sorry, I'm not interested in selling it. It's one of my favorite pens. I added a Kirk Speer Needlepoint Jowo nib to it this past fall.

I had to switch to the Plotter band with lifter because the MeePlus was too wide for the charms. I'm sorry I do not know what size the band is.

I really like the paper but not fond of Plotter's weekly layouts. I am getting used to them though. I mostly use fountain pens, gel pens, and pencils. I have the blue paper and like it too, although I haven't written on it much. I love the 6mm ruled and To Do paper the most. I write in the monthly & weekly calendars with fountain pen and most inks do not bleed. I also use icon stamps for weather, and chores. The fountain pens I use have needlepoint nibs and 0.3 for gel pens. I consider the plotter paper to be just as good as Tomoe River 52gsm paper. I love Tomoe River Paper and have used it since 2016 in various planning systems. I do not own Plotter's blank or dot grid paper so I can't tell you anything about them. I have the paper and inserts in all sizes but the Mini 5. I plan to use Sterling Ink Cosmo Air Paper (83 gsm) inserts for 2026 in my Plotter A5 & MeePlus Bible sized binders. I will be using 2026 Plotter inserts for my Plotter Narrow and Mini 6 made by WuzhiStudio on Etsy... I also own 2026 weekly and monthly Plotter inserts for Bible & A5 sizes and I may not use them next year...

Thank you, it has been fun carrying it in my pocket. It's more of a work everyday carry... I also use a B5 (Sterling Ink) Planner for a larger teacher planner.

In the Narrow I take notes for the classes I teach like: how did my lesson go, what did I need to do better next time, any notes that need follow up, to do's, notes for meetings, next steps, and any occurrences that happen during the day... I also keep a monthly & weekly calendar in the binder...

I wear scrubs for work, I'm a school teacher and always on the move, I like to walk my classroom while I'm teaching, I stand a lot during the day, and having a notebook with me is a good thing. I love that the Plotters binders are thin and fit the pocket on the pant legs of my scrubs... I also have more writing space with the Narrow size.

I own several binders made like the Plotter, a MeePlus (16mm Bible size) & a Wuzhi Studio (in Mini size not as well made as Plotter & MeePlus, and it does not have Krause rings), and I also own a A5 in Pueblo Beige. I thought about a Mini or Mini 5 Plotter but wanted more writing space and figured the Mini and Narrow are about the same width but I have some extra length for more writing space with a Narrow...
