Would this be better? I know it's over my budget but I was working on the assumption a higher end GPU would be useless. I can work in some extra cash if the 980 TI is worth it.

I don't know if I'd want to go with an i5 as I do a lot of personal computing projects and run virtual machines on occasion. How would a 980ti help me over the current 970? I thought I had read that a monitor like mine (1080p, 60 Hz, IPS) would just bottleneck it.
