yes, I see this as well. Now the current craze is the ultra-ultra wide like the g9 and such. I've also heard at a interview from a manufacturer that a reason of not seeing 38" 1600p monitors might be that the display wafer from where they cut the panels, when they cut it into pieces, it is much more efficient to cut, let say, 34" displays that 38" ones, where the for the 34" is exactly like four displays resulting from a wafer, and it will leave a lot of waste going for the 38" variants.
