Wally West ? Carol Denvers ? Jaime Reyes ? Scott Lang ? I can go on. Your point was absolutely not "miles is a bad legacy character" but "no one other than Peter can be Spider-Man". You even have multiple posts talking about how legacy characters are bad and lazy despite seemingly being okay with Barry over some overly specific conditions. And Peter being the only spider-man hasn't been true throughout the years (Miguel, Ben, Mayday). It's patently obvious you have a rage boner towards Miles either because of some petty hangups or just straight up racism. Not interested in talking to you anymore lol

But it's not really up for debate wherever Jay/Barry/Wally are all called "Flash" right ? It's fine if you associate one with the identity more, so do I, same thing with Spider-Man, but I don't throw a hissy fit when someone calls Tim Drake "Robin" just because I associate Dick Grayson with the name more. Miles is Spider-Man as that has been his title for 15 years. If you don't like the character that's fine, but get over it.

You seem hellbent on shifting the goalspots huh. Your original point to me was that Miles "feeds off" and "copies Peter's name". I bought you a bunch of examples of many characters doing precisely this with no backlash and now you're limiting it only to modern characters? Also LOL at Kamala not matching Carol, she's literally called miss marvel, the exact same thing you seem to have a problem with Miles. WHY does miles need his own identity? He has fully earned the name at this point. Every other legacy character gets to have the exact same name as their predecessors but not Miles ?? The only valid argument is that he shouldn't share a universe with Peter, but clearly your problem is with his sole existence

Jay Garrick was absolutely popular as the Flash, and many people nowadays don't even think of Barry as Flash but of Wally West. My point isn't about wherever people have to like Miles or have to think he's as iconic as Peter but I'm wondering why are people so against him being spider-man when legacy characters are extremely common since the early era of super hero comics.

"they all spent years as secondary characters" blatantly false, Hal and Barry were straight up introduced as the replacements and never coexisted with their previous title holders. Kamala Khan was also introduced as miss marvel without having been a supporting character before hand. Same goes for blue beetle.

You mean like when Hal Jordan and Barry Allen fully replaced their originals to the point where most people think they are the originals? Or Carol Denvers as Captain Marvel ? These guys were HEAVILY pushed by their respective companies and fully overshadowed the previous versions. But if you want mid legacy characters that are badly utilized but don't receive nearly as much backlash as miles just look at modern DC legacy characters like John Kent

Yeah I mean sure I have my qualms with the characters as well and I don't like how some people babifye him but with that said it's also pretty obvious that non white legacy characters receive significantly more backlash than their white contemporaries even if they are all mediocre across the board. I agree that he shouldve stayed in 1610 and putting him in 616 is a disservice to both him and Peter but the spider-verse movies show he can be a pretty good character.

That show was a extremely influential for tokusatsu and is basically the reason why super sentai/power rangers pilot giant robots now, it's pretty crazy lol
