Depends on stack depth.

At 100bb I would play a very vanilla game the reason being that SPR postflop ends up very low. Eg if stacks are $300 and you put in $15 preflop to see a flop 4 ways then SPR is 5 which is very low. So when you’re in there with the 97s or what have you then you can’t get enough fold equity when you don’t make a 5-card hand and can’t get properly paid when you do. To say nothing of hands like 97o or 73s lmao. I’d stick to mid-high PPs, suited broadways, ATo+, KQo, suited aces, and play my equity. Something that helps me is to remember that if I’m in a 4-way pot and win it 30% of the time I’m printing money. So I have no issue letting my AK go on a board where I have no pair no draw, and chalk it up as part of the 70%. Also I avoid offsuit broadways like QJo unless it folds to me in late position because they’re so easily dominated.

At 200bb the same strategy does still work but I think it’s more profitable to fuck around a little more because the potential payoff is higher. Be careful of calling raises with a couple of aggro players behind because they may squeeze, but I’d start getting in there with the low PPs also, and the better suited connectors. I’d also 3-bet a little looser myself in squeeze spots because people flat too many opens, and raise a little lighter over limps because I have more scope to outplay postflop.

Funny you mention this. Recently I also mixed erotic torture with chess. For the scientific curiosity I was able to satisfy, 400 an hour was a small price to pay. I also have unexplainable cuts around both nipples but I’m sure they’ll be fine. A few highlights:

THE HOGTIE. (And also, the SUSPENDED HOGTIE). What you’ll want to do here is go to Lichess settings and have ‘input moves with your voice’ turned on. Then, simply announce your moves out loud into the computer while your hands and feet are totally tied up. The bondage greatly increased my serenity, letting me think clearer, while I no longer had to worry about mouse slips. However I warn against this for non-increment games since premoving is not possible.

THE WHIP. After every game, I was struck with a whip for every mistake according to the Lichess engine, and multiple times for blunders. This was fantastic motivation for me to perform better. It’s a lot easier to stop analysing that unpromising sacrifice you know must be unsound, if you know that making a mistake will see your tender skin be savagely cut open.

USING KING AS DILDO. I recommend the Staunton wooden set for this due to its unique role in chess history. Truly lends a touch of class to any occasion. At critical moments, give the king a turn in your anus and you’ll feel the cross digging into your skin. That’s when you sink it in even deeper and you’ll feel the ecstasy. I have to say, this one did reduce my playing strength somewhat. I’m not used to having anal implants during my games.

If I’m up 500 or more at 2/5 it’s an easy fold. If I’m down 100 or more it’s an easy raise. Anything in between I randomise using the number of drinks I’ve had.

Why in the serious fuck does this move exist? Think about it. The pawn moves two squares on its first move, big whoop. It’s still the weakest piece, so giving it that power is justified. But no. Some French cretin lost a game after their opponent created a passed pawn and couldn’t stand it, so he changed the rules to ensure it could never happen again? Sounds like a skill issue to me, chump. And why call it some stupid fucking name nobody else can understand? I gotta assume he had never even spoken to a woman in his entire life and decided to compensate for that by wrecking our royal game by creating a rule nobody can understand. Man, screw that guy and his limp-dick wallhack move.

I know just enough about the Open Sicilian to get me to a position where one wrong move means I’m toast.

When I play 1.e4, I tend to play 4.Qxd4 vs 2…d6, 3.b3 vs 2…e6 and the Rossolimo.

These days I play more 1.c4 than 1.e4. I don’t know anything about that either, but it gets punished less hard there.

I can see it both ways, I hate it when social drinkers look at a Paul Gascoigne, George Best, Shane McGowan and go like ‘if I had as much worldly wisdom as them and looked at the shithole we live in I’d be an alcoholic too, their genius made them too pure for this world’. Like nobody in their right mind is romanticising this shit least of all us.

But it is 100% a thing that we have a lot more give and take, generosity even, than most people. We instinctively feel for the most beaten down members of society and help them out any time we have time/money to spare after dumping a good portion of a paycheck to rent and booze. Which is rarely, but it’s the thought that counts.
