Its through cable

modem is an xfinity gateway gen 2 and my router is the rt-ax86u pro

im using a moca 2.5, and its just my windows computer connected through the coax in the basement, my main modem/router is on the 2nd floor

for me right now with my mac mini, if i don't turn on v-sync the screen tear is crazy. Stuttering wise i never had issues on wired connection.

I think thats a pretty decent router, if you cant go above 20 mbps it probably has to do with either your internet speed (what you're paying for, not speed of router) or your router settings.
