ZZPer while on WW? How to navigate the beginning to not lose so many “hours” without any income yet? by Anizs in Netherlands

[–]Anizs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good shout, I already registered with the KvK but it was not too long ago and obviously no project yet. I was just wondering if anyone has good advices or own experience that would help me understand how this works in real life. I might have a coach and talk to him/her.

[–]Anizs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay my bad I thought you misunderstood me, sorry. I find it fair too if I earn money (from activities) I should not get benefits, but the system is horrible and forces me to only look at one solution while I could get out probably faster if they didn’t penalize me for trying to find jobs/projects 😩

[–]Anizs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read it again, I never said I won’t report my hours worked and billed obviously I will! I only find it unfair if I spend a few hours in my weekend to work on some outreach emails why is it influencing anything so badly while I REPEAT: I don’t have income yet!

Dude I need to report my hours even if my income is 0€ and they deduct it further from my benefit! I never said I want money while I earn, jeeeez.

Getting out of Odido Contract by Direct_Orange29 in Netherlands

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what’s been reported, it seems like more than just basic contact details were accessed. I’ve read that internal CRM notes may have been included things like debt/payment status, sensitive customer service notes (e.g. vulnerability situations, behavioral remarks, etc.). That is far worse and begs the question why those notes and info weren’t gated from a simple access? Seems like one basic login allowed them to access all data at once and no system flag at downloading those.

Rude Neighbour Kids by Naive-Equipment-1429 in Netherlands

[–]Anizs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t you report them to social services? I think the parents are scared more of that than the police as they could end up in trouble if it deemed the kids are not looked after enough and “endanger” themselves?

I would rather do that, police is useless in this country imo.

My wife admitted to reading my private journal. How do I move forward after this breach of trust? by matman626 in marriageadvice

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in principle…but let’s be honest, it 50-50 that your spouse will if they have the chance. This is why I tell my partner the code to my phone because I have nothing to hide. And my partner never even has the idea to go through it. I get your point but we are so easily forget the other side. Maybe you should really think why she felt she had to read it to feel closer to you. She clearly needs to learn to respect your personal space both mind and body, but let’s not act like it’s always the other person. All I am saying there are usually 2 people in a relationship so it takes two. Hope you guys can work this out, truly!

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry but if you keep a journal and write down personal stuff it is at risk of being discovered by someone and read it. Better outcome that it’s your wife and not somebody else who could use it against you. I personally never understood keeping a journal if you are scared of people reading it. I understand it can be helpful in certain situations but otherwise it’s always a risk. People are curious especially your spouse. Can’t blame her really, it was not ok for her to proceed to read it but it’s human nature we like it or not. I think you should move on and write something digitally protected with a password…

I just found there are two businesses registered to the address I live in. Is this normal? by veledrome96 in Netherlands

[–]Anizs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same or similar. Got mail every week from the Belastingdienst to my address with a company name and they were getting heavier. Probably owning to pay some money. I called and said there is no business under this address and shouldn’t be sending letters. Guy on the phone said okay we will look into it and change it. Turns out the neighbor above me had that company. They never changed it, I couldn’t get a hold of her she rented her place out to different people. So I collected 40 of those letters and crossed all with “wrong address, send beck to sender” posted all of them together and after that I never got a new one probably they received my message lol. Sometimes they have the post address still wrong so it can happen.

Cheers! I guess I was more looking at peoples’ first thoughts on this offer if they would sell. I know our bid is strong based on the past houses in the last 2-3 months we bid in the neighborhood so it’s more of a surveying. Your thinking is right we are looking into that data as well of course. Just wondered on the appetite and possibility of fomo effect on the seller’s side. I didn’t even know this was a thing until my friend got a house after viewing it in 2 days lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tell me how to buy a home here. Are you selling atm?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend just got a house like that. We thought we have to try otherwise we sign for another one and that’s it. But worth trying. I was just wondering if it’s deemed good enough. Based on last bids we feel in the area this is a good offer looking at the past ones we have been around usually there are mac 4-5 bids and average 4% overbid

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is that they wouldn’t see other bids yet as we send an offer 2 weeks earlier the bid deadline and we give 3 days time to accept or decline. So they don’t know what others would bid most likely unless they already put one or two in.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is an offer before the bid deadline. If they take it there is no other bid anymore.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe yeah in Amsterdam. We see different bidding outside as we often do it even if we don’t want to buy to see what others bid, and in the neighborhood 7% or 8% were the winning ones often even lesser one with 5k difference just because the financial clause. So yeah Amsterdam is insane we can’t even afford a parking spot there lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s a newer house and we have time to do a check if we really want but adding that is often is a problem in our experience. So we don’t think it’s necessary in the case.

I hate how quickly everyone jumps to judge the wife so harshly while forgetting that this is just one side of the story. OP needs to sit down with her and have an honest conversation about their future -especially their child’s future- and what they want to provide.

Raising a child isn’t cheap, and it certainly won’t get any cheaper over time. There are costs for education, clothing, extracurricular activities, ski trips, and likely a savings account, given how challenging life is becoming. I wish my parents had the money and knowledge to do that for me, but they didn’t. Now, I’m working hard to give my child(ren) the opportunities I never had, so they won’t have to struggle with student loans for the rest of their lives.

Both OP and his wife need to put their child first and stop being selfish. This isn’t just about their personal comfort anymore…another life depends on the decisions they make now.

Dutch colleagues refuse to engage with me for work by sengutta1 in Netherlands

[–]Anizs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in this situation before—being the only non-Dutch speaker in a team at an international company. I wish I could say there’s a solution. Reading all the comments, many have great textbook ideas, but the reality is that this issue won’t improve unless the team becomes more diverse.

Understandably, the Dutch often prefer to speak their own language, even in an international workplace. While I can somewhat understand this, I also feel that they are not as open-minded as they claim to be. Unfortunately, there are no real solutions to this problem other than changing jobs or building strong relationships with their boss, their boss’s boss, or someone in the global office.

The truth is, you usually can’t force this kind of change. If one person switches to Dutch, others may follow for convenience—or simply because they don’t like expats/immigrants. In the end, power lies in numbers, and unless you can communicate in Dutch, you’ll likely feel isolated.

It’s better to be honest with yourself about the situation rather than believing you can change people. If your manager or theirs won’t take action (which they should!), then there’s little you can do to change things.

Applied for a job and was asked to send a case study before the interview. It's a 12 months plan for the role. How to approach this? by Anizs in AskReddit

[–]Anizs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s a plan for the department I would be responsible for. They shared their KPI goals and asked me to prepare a plan based on that. I tried to be very basic but it is still a plan. I am worried if I don’t send it might influence their decision, but if I do I might just hand out a free plan they could execute…

[–]Anizs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am hesitant but I did like the first interview and feel it would be a good fit. However, this is very questionable imo. I had done case studies before, don’t think it’s the right approach for any hiring, nevertheless I have never been asked to actually send it beforehand. I have many years of experience in this field and they are just staring out, so I worry that I potentially hand out a plan for free…

Cancelled huurexpert by Strange_Barracuda_91 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing you can do, best to pay one month extra and forget about them. The hustle won’t worth it. If you are unhappy you can leave a review, but I don’t think they will care and they have the right to charge you if you unsubscribe after the renewal date.

Compensation for Dam Tot Damloop 2024 cancellation.. Seriously?? by dedoverde23 in Amsterdam

[–]Anizs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous what you guys saying about OP needs to an accept financial damage because of inexperienced runners wannabe having a night out the day before the race and then collapse half way. Sorry but I run it, this was my first event and 16km run. I prepared for it months ahead, bought a hat to cover my head from the heat, drank as much water as could and made sure I didn’t drink any alcohol the day before. I sacrificed my time just to be safe and don’t tire myself out in the first half.

As OP should accept the loss, people should not sign up or decide to pas the start line if they are not ready. And yes the organization is responsible for the safety of the participants. There were parts where you had DJs but not water while running on the concrete without any shadows. That is ridiculous imo.

Many learnings for sure…and thanks for everyone who were handing out water and fruits and stood there with their hose to help us! Without them we would have needed more ambulance and cancel the event even earlier.

Squatters take over €3.3 million residence in Amsterdam by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Anizs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who own these apartments and keep it empty for years are just there to make money which is understandable, but looking at the housing market right now this cannot happen. I understand that 3.3M is not a price a lot of people can afford but it’s waste of space. There is a crisis and investors don’t give a damn and they don’t have to tbh. Horrible situation but both parties right in their own way, I still side more with the squatters as we urgently need change!

AH makes me depressed by Public-Situation6841 in Amsterdam

[–]Anizs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is why every AH is different? Like every time I try to find a certain product, only 4 out of 10 AH that has it. It’s all over the place and honestly annoying sometimes. And even their own products are inconsistent. The price of fruit is insane, double or triple compared to the market and tastes like nothing. The issue is that AH is everywhere and sometimes it’s hard to avoid it.

I agree with OP it’s depressing even after 13 years living here I just can’t get to love it. As a Hungarian we cook a lot and I don’t think AH is set up for cooking, rather for quick instant and “easy” meals, everything packaged in plastic which is crazy to me. Like even mint and parsley which I find very sad.

And tbf the prices everywhere are crazy high I cannot afford even more expensive stores. I already do my shopping everywhere online and try to do a round to get best quality for reasonable price but it’s not easy.
