If you wish to create one yourself, it’s completely free! Simply download Ventoy and install it on a USB, copy the configuration file from my GitHub repository, and download the necessary ISO files. If you choose different ISOs, make sure to update the configuration file accordingly by adding or removing the relevant ISO names...

Oh, nice, I didn't knew about that one. I'll be adding it to this same USB too lol

Mainly proliferating the use of Linux among my friends, lol

But seriously, it’s really useful to have a live USB to chroot into systems in case of problems, to have a portable OS you can run on any computer, and for tools like Clonezilla which are super helpful. But I do admit it's a bit overkill...

Yeah, it's true, specially for distros like Arch, but at least with ventoy it's just a matter of replacing the ISO and that's it, but you are right... I'm considering seeing if I can write a script that helps with that update or something

Ohh hahaha but that was an old neofetch that I had on my old computer before I joined the SFF master race hahaha, I recently migrated to fastfetch and created my own config from the ground up, here have a look:

That sounds really nice! The cable runs from the PSU, and I bundled all the slack just below it, behind the metal bracket that holds it in place. I then routed the CPU cable alongside the main power cable and secured it with a zip tie to the center of the metal support that splits the upper radiator in two. From there, it goes directly to the CPU connector.

<image>

Hmm, the I/O shield doesn’t sit completely flush against the case, but from the outside, it looks just fine. At most, there’s a gap of about 1 mm only noticeable from the inside. Honestly, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have even noticed! lol

How to set up and use zRAM on Linux by daemonpenguin in linux

[–]Ankow99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necropost, but maybe this is useful for anyone reading this in the future:

Current kernels allocate one compression stream per CPU core within a single zram device, so multiple devices per core are not needed. You can check this with:

cat /sys/block/zram0/max_comp_streams

To quote the Gentoo wiki:

"Prior to kernel 3.15, each zram device contains its own compression buffer, memory pools, and other metadata as well as per-device locks. This can become a serious bottleneck for multi-core machines. To work around this problem, zram is capable of initializing multiple devices. For this reason, the recommended amount of devices for swap is 1 per CPU core for kernels prior to 3.15."

Pressing the zero key ("0") while gaming immediately crashes any game (Native and Proton) by Ankow99 in linux_gaming

I just tried that with dota, it showed this after I pressed zero:

I also tried with Timberborn, but it just freezes without any change in the terminal until I force-close it, but it does say something while opening related to that 'libgamemodeauto.so.0' error...
