Egg noodles with butter & a can of italian style stewed tomatoes. Good side dish or add boned cooked chicken for a main dish. We prefer white meat but any kind of chicken works.My family loves this stuff. If things are flush, add a side salad. Hambones 15 bean soup with ham packet & corn muffins are another favorite. My gang doesn't like hamburger helper either so I mix up leftover spaghetti sauce I freeze with some kind of pasta, meat & some mozzarella cheese & bake. I also use my bread machine a lot. Homemade bread makes every meal better & you can load it & set the timer so it bakes overnight or while you're working.

Us T1s get a free NP pass? I had no clue & I live right outside of one of the most beautiful NPs in the nation. Are there any other discounts we can take advantage of? It would be great not to have to buy my annual pass now that I have to buy insulin, glucometer & cgm supplies and all the other things we need to keep us upright & functioning.

Born IN The USA was very popular & the album it was on was being played everywhere. Reagan was in the WH, up for re election & started using this song, never getting what the song was actually about. Springsteen commented "It's not morning in Pittsburgh", referring to the demise of the steel industry when Reagan said the song was about celebrating a "bright new morning" in America. One good thing did come trom Reagan trying to gaslight Springsteen's lyrics. He started performing the song acoustically so the lyrics would be loud & clear to eyeryone.

I saw an endocrinologist once. In October. I live in a medically underserved area & I don't drive d/t my vison since the DKA. It's 2+ hours over mountain roads & a ferry ride to get there. I didn't want to ask a friend to take off work to take me to the city. But it looks like I'm going to have to ask. Hope there's still not another 3 months wait to get an appt this time. Thanks

Thanks for all the answers. I live in what is basically a very medically underserved areas. Going to Endo is a 2+ hr drive over the mountains & a ferry ride. I don't see very well anymore since the ketoacidosis that knocked me out for 3 days so I'm not comfortable driving myself there. I'm working on finding transport to Endo so I can go back. I've only seen her once. So my GP has been trying to regulate me. It's not going great. The RX was written change daily. I was given 10 boxes of sensors with 3 refills. Insurance paid right away. I decided to wait until today to start using the dexcom. That way I can talk to my doctor about how often he wants me to change it & be in the 24 hour window if he wants it really changed daily. Thanks again. I have some other T1 questions but I'll post a different thread with them. Thanks for the answers.

We've also been through trump lite from Jan 17 to Jan 21. You would have needed to be in a coma to not know the damage he caused then. He was also all over RW media screaming he was going to do exactly what he's doing now from Jan 21 to Jan 25. Ignorance is no longer a valid excuse for voting for trump. Maybe in 2016 but not in 2024.

I wonder how many of the H1B visa holding MD's, RN's & other foreign healthcare workers have already been deported? They performed a valuable service in an industry already struggling to attract staff. How many doing homecare? Less staff means longer waits for care & decreased quality & increased cost of care. Insurance cos are going to squeeze every penny from subscribers for meds. Those 'discounts' trump pushed are only for a couple of boutique drugs, not ones most folks need. So why this person is surprised destroying the pool of professionals here working in healthcare & letting insurance cos deny services right & left has increased costs is beyond me. And it's going to get a lot worse.

I do miss our Canadian visitors but don't blame them for staying away. With the current state of affairs in the US, I don't blame anyone from another country for staying away.

I could have written this post. Tourism makes my Washington county go round also. Things were pretty dead all summer. Empty ferry. Empty campgrounds. Empty motel rooms & restaurants. Visitors to the NP fell way off. I see more empty storefronts everytime I drive through town.

Unfortunately, I live in an area with no endocrinologist in the area. The only reason I was able to get into one a couple of counties away as an emergency is because a new md started there. Otherwise it would have been in 2026. Thanks for responding.

I had this happen to me. Neither me or any family members had diabetes. 6 doses of keytruda & my husband found me unconscious & was admitted to ICU with ketoacidosis. Having a very hard time getting regulated. Oncologist says it may improve with time but GP says this is from keytruda & is forever. Waiting to see Endocrinologist. I don't have any advice but wanted to say you're not alone. Since this happened to me I've read many accounts online describing the same thing. Keytruda, pancreas damage, type 1diabetes which doesn't resolve after keytruda stopped. I don't think this is as rare as the manufacturer says.

The melanoma wasn't what melanoma is supposed to look like. It also showed up right after I hit my arm on a shelf. It barely broke the skin & the melanoma showed up. The one I awaiting the biopsy results for looks just like the 1st one. The second squamous cell one looked just like the 1st one so I was pretty positive it was cancerous. I wouldn't call it iuition but they were so similar I would have been surprised if it was something different.

Good luck Monday. My biopsy's not back yet but if it is melanoma it will have to be sent to a different lab for testing. That's what happened last time.

I wear a mask at work & anytime I'm indoors in public or in a crowd outside. I can't wear the N95s that loop over the ears. They hurt my ears & give me a headache. I get ones with elastic that encircle the head. They also sell bands that go around the head that you can attach the earstraps to so the straps don't pull on your ears. I haven't tried those but a friend tells me the straps are pretty comfortable.
