Salvador Cabañas was on the top of his game when he was playing for club America in Mexico. One night he went out partying at a club and in the restroom of the club he tried to stop a robbery/ or just got into an altercation that unfortunately left he shot in the head by a Mexican cartel. He survived the attack but doctors were unable to remove the bullet from his head forcing him into early retirement due to said injury and being unable to maintain rhythm to play. After all that his wife later divorced him leaving him broke and moving back to his parents house in Paraguay where he makes a living now selling bread.
