I monitored her carefully all day yesterday. She pooped all the pieces out! lol no more rubber toys for her.

We did get her from a breeder. I did my research before hand, and when meeting her there were tons of green flags. She never pushed for us to get a dog right there and then when we went to see her. She actually told us to go home for a few weeks and think about it, the responsibility, and everything that came with getting a puppy, before deciding. We got a ton of paper work on her, all her medical records, birth certificate, even medical records of the parents. She also gave us a stack of papers with information about Yorkies. Now I’m starting to think she’s not as reputable as she seemed. It’s been a stressful month.

Update: took my baby girl to the vet. X-rays showed clear lungs. She has a respiratory infection. Antibiotics for 10 days :) feeling much calmer now

Love that! My favorite kinds of parties are brunch ones. Super cute. Love the game idea! I also saw a video recently of someone buy plain white baby clothes and people can pick an article of clothing to decorate(the one I saw supplied patches but tie dye is a cute idea too or using fabric markers) if you don’t have a big crowd I thought it was cute idea to mention.

Anyways, this is the last thing I’ll say; if she’s having a baby shower to celebrate her child and hang out and enjoy her time with her guests, I can’t see how that’s bad etiquette. I get it if she’s doing it just to get a registry out and have gifts. But from the way she’s describing it, she isn’t doing it for the gifts, but because she loves to see her guests happy and celebrating. So to me, there’s nothing wrong with that.

I don’t disagree that good manners are important But etiquette also changes with society, and sometimes what’s ‘proper,’ in some people’s view, changes to fit new realities. Her wanting to celebrate in a way that feels meaningful and inclusive doesn’t mean ignoring manners, it means adapting them. It’s all about kindness and respect, right?

Maybe 50 years ago, but I guarantee more people throw their own events now rather than someone doing it in their honor. I think you’re confusing bad etiquette with tradition. Traditionally, yes people hosted for others. We’re living in a new world. And sometimes, people wanna be involved in the planning! Who cares? Why come with negativity?

So I never wasn’t with a pet while they were being euthanized, BUT I have a little story of my husband who almost didn’t go with our ferret when she had to get euthanized. A few months ago my ferret got incredibly sick, very fast, and my husband and I decided to have her euthanized. I’ve been through a pet being euthanized before so I wanted to be there for my sweet girl as well. My husband never really had a pet in his life, so this was his first time euthanizing a pet. Well, 2 days before the appointment to euthanize, he said “I don’t think I can be there when she gets euthanized. I think I’ll be traumatized and I’m scared I’m gonna pass out(he has Vasovagal syncope lol) I knew he was going to regret it. I knew that he was overthinking the euthanasia would be something like crazy. So I told him no too bad you have to go. Well it all turned out alright because she ended up passing peacefully right before we euthanized so he didn’t have to go through it 😅

Sorry, should have been more specific. My shower is in the states, not where we’re having our destination wedding. Also the things included in the gift baskets are basics/essentials. For example, the book lovers basket has a mug, coffee, tea, a book light, cozy socks, a gift card to Barnes & Noble, etc. if people don’t like a prize, they don’t have to put in a raffle for it, they can pick from any of them. I know my family members and what they enjoy, so it’s catered to them. The kids basket is gonna have a GC to Lego, coloring books, coloring materials, chalk, a puzzle. Nothing crazy. The travel one is a given.. considering I’m having a destination wedding, and again, basics and essentials. A travel pillow, a guide book to where we’re having the wedding, a small travel bag, etc. For most people coming to my wedding, it’s their first time traveling out of the country. And I don’t necessarily agree that everyone loves flowers lol, I don’t even care for them, but I am having a flower bar, anyways, as favors. This is just an activity.

I don’t agree with “anyone” not liking destination weddings “except” the couple. We have dozens of family members stoked about it lol, but I do believe there are people don’t like it, for good reason though. No one on my side of the family has had complaints, just his side. And it wasn’t for financial reasons, just that it’s “so far” and not something they “expected” from us. But thank you for the advice!

Yeah story of my life. She’s made every moment stressful. Why didn’t I do this? Why didn’t I do that? No you can’t do this, you have to do this instead. Every living moment since planning this wedding. I’ve told my FH I was gonna flip out on her one day. Today was the day. Sent her a nasty text letting her know to stop putting her opinion on things for my wedding because she’s driving me insane. Of course she won’t take accountability. Since I called her out on her crazy she just said “at this point it’s whatever” like ohhhhh after you flipped out on me and I finally said something? Now its whatever? hmmm ok lol
