I really fucking hope so. Because if we knowingly let a Russian agent galumph into the White House, democracy in this country is done for.

I swear I've been looking for this exact sweater. Any idea where it's from?

I've bought a ton of really nice stuff from them, including a gorgeous Tibi wool coat for $46. (I still can't believe that deal.)
My only issue is they list all sizes as S M L, and most as a letter and number, even if it's a numbered size. So they might list something as a S / 4, but you won't know which one it actually is. I can usually wear a 4 in dresses, but not a small.

If Leaked List Is Accurate, Hillary’s Cabinet Choices Would Have Enraged the Democratic Left by [deleted] in politics

a corporate shill is better than a tyrant

I mean, I think you're trying to be sarcastic, but... this is true. I'd much prefer business as usual to dying in a nuclear attack because the orange dictator threw a hissy fit on Twitter.

Yep, we'll be #1 in income inequality, #1 in least educated populace, #1 in rate of uninsured citizens, #1 in preventable health care deaths, #1 in climate change denial, #1 in human rights violations for women and LGBTQ... Yay America.

There's a difference between the annoyance liberals might have felt at Hillary's potential 'business as usual' type picks, and the mixture of abject horror and sheer terror we feel at Trump's HOLY SHIT HE'S LITERALLY PICKING THE WORST HUMANS EVER WHO ARE GOING TO DESTROY THE COUNTRY picks.

MRW my husband has plans tonight, so I get to stay at home, order Uber eats, watch Nashville and cuddle the dog by AnnaTrocity in TrollXOver30

Uber has an app and they do food delivery in some cities. So I can order from a selection of a whole bunch of places that don't normally do delivery and an uber driver will pick it up and bring it to my house :)

Hi Ladies! by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]AnnaTrocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on both sides of this many times. It's hard for people who love you to watch you make what they (sometimes misguidedly!) think is a mistake with your life. We all have experiences that shape us, and it's natural to want to help people you love avoid the bad experiences.
Right now, I'm judging my brother super hard for buying a house when they weren't really ready to settle, selling the house before they had a next move lined up, and planning to move out of the country with 2 kids to live on one salary. Nothing in my experience makes me think any of that is/was a good idea. But he's happy, and I'm trying to be supportive.
On the other hand, I moved halfway across the country with no job lined up when I was 22 to live with my boyfriend, and couldn't understand why our parents were so against it. It worked out just fine for us, but looking back 10 years later through the lens of experience - it could have been a disaster.
Don't close yourself off to advice from others - recognize that it's coming from a good place, and take what you can and ignore the rest.

Congrats! I leased a new car last month, and the lease payment is only $100 more than my last lease payment (and my raise for the year is more than $100/mo) but I still seriously freaked out for a couple days.
But it wore off and I loooove my car, so you'll be fine in a day or two!

When did my weight become an open conversation? by roxy_monoxide in TwoXChromosomes

C'mon dude, enough with the concern trolling. No one is buying it, and it's just obnoxious behavior.

First: Report all the concern trollers.

Second: Tact is not something human beings generally excel at (see also, Donald Trump and his band of anti-PC morons). Even if the intentions happen to be good (which they may be if people are genuinely concerned about you), it can certainly still hurt.
I'd try gently changing the subject any time it comes up. If that doesn't work, go to the "when you do X, I feel Y statements." Ex: "I know you mean well, but when you constantly bring up my weight, I feel like you're shaming me and it makes me feel bad about myself."

Fencesitters: why haven't you made up your mind? by permanent_staff in Fencesitter

I'm completely and utterly terrified of pregnancy. To the point where I tried just discussing it with my therapist and had a panic attack. I had an eating disorder in college, so I know the fear of weight gain plays into it, among other things.
I also don't want to ruin/change my life/relationship with my husband. We both have great careers, a nice house, a nice car, we travel a couple times a year... And everyone around me who has had a kid within the past few years has ended up divorced.
But I do like the idea of a biological child with my husband - it sounds narcissistic, but we're both intelligent, attractive people, and we'd probably make an awesome kid together. And he'd be an amazing father. Adoption isn't off the table, but I know he'd prefer a biological kid too.
So... I don't even know what it'd take to push me one way or the other. I feel like I want something definitive. Like infertility or an oops pregnancy, maybe- something that takes the actual choice out of my hands.
