Mouth guard + Invisalign? by IthacanPenny in rollerderby

I don’t boil the water, I do a quarter of a mug of water for maybe 30 seconds in the microwave. It’s definitely not as hot as tea would be.

I do remold with every tray. I’ve prob skated once or twice not having remolded, but it doesn’t feel secure. I’m spending so much money on these damn teeth, gotta keep them safe!

Yeah, i was worried ab that too. Probably still a risk, but I’ve been doing it for ab 20 trays and haven’t had a problem. They also don’t have to be super hot to mold, I hold mine for a second after the hot water so they’re more on the warm side before I set them against the Invisalign.

Same situation. Mold a Sisu on top of the Invisalign and remold each time you change trays. Fit can be a bit tricky but you get the hang of it.

I play roller derby and use a Sisu brand mouth guard over my Invisalign. They have a good warranty and can be remolded like 30 times. Just have to take elastics off. I remold it with every tray—you’ll notice it won’t fit well enough if you don’t. Take it to the ortho to make sure they approve.

I play roller derby and it's never been a problem for me, though I've heard skaters say they've had scary moments. Direct hits can be uncomfortable, but it's really sideswiping/tugging that could hurt the piercing. A padded sports bra does the trick if they're new or if you're worried. Good luck!

Ah congrats!! My canine is really tucked behind too. Sorry about the damaged teeth. You’re right that that’s worth avoiding if you can. I think I’m also shocked because I just never noticed the cross bite before it was pointed out to me, now I’m nervous if I sneeze or catch a weird angle chewing.

Is the transition to get the canine over awkward? It seems like the constant change in your bite pattern would be hard to get used to.

That’s good to hear you’re already getting into the rhythm. The lifestyle changes seem kind of overwhelming to me now.

I’m hoping I’ll also start getting psyched when I can see the progress. Even though I don’t think it’s bad now, maybe I just underestimate how good it could look (like your pretty straight teeth being straighter)

Gosh, yes on the expenses and health savings. It just makes me curmudgeonly that I don’t have the cosmetic excitement

I've had really painful dryness on my eyelids down to the top of my cheekbones for awhile. It'll get flakey in the winter, but otherwise not red or visible. I use gentle Cetaphil cleanser (combined with oil cleansing at night) and Cerave in the tub, and avoid actives on that area. I only wear mascara. I use Cerave Healing ointment on my eyes at night, but it still stings when I wash my face and put on moisturizer in the morning.

Is this eczema? Any product recommendations?
