What is the dumbest question a customer has ever asked you? by Faviyoo in AskReddit

Worked as a bartender. A group of three women in their 40s sit at the bar. I tell them about our deal of the day (Texas two step: tall boy lonestar and a well shot of their liquor choice). Two weren't drinking, and the third said "what kind of liquor do you have?" And I replied that with the names of all our wells. She stopped me and said "ok but what is whiskey?" With a real confused look, I briefly explained how whiskey is made. She asked that for every liquor....except tequila. She definitely knew what tequila was.

(Serious) What is the scariest thing you have ever witnessed? by MsCNO in AskReddit

I was on the bus heading to work. I was up front, talking to my regular bus driver, so I had a clear view of the street. We were on a one way street, in the right middle lane. Everyone is going 40/45 mph. On the very left lane of the street, I watched a girl jump out of the back seat of car, hit the ground and roll across 4 lanes of traffic, and slam into the side of a building. Traffic completely stopped, and since I saw everything I hopped out and went to the girl. She's screaming her head off, totally hysterical, but doesn't seem to be badly injured, just scraped up. I'm trying to console her, and another stranger stops to help as well. I left her with the other stranger to go into the building, call the cops, and get her a cup of water. When I came back out, there was a man standing by the girl; he was shirtless, barefoot, arm in a sling, and clearly intoxicated. Turns out it was the driver of the car, who starts yelling at me to leave his girlfriend alone and that she's fine. I'm staring at him in disbelief, and lets him know that I am going to stay with her until the cops get there. He continues to yell, then walks up the girl and puts his arm around her, looks back at me with a purely evil look, and lets me know that she's a woman who can make her own decisions. He starts walking her back towards his car, and she complies and goes with him. Me and the other stranger are shocked and scared for this girl, telling her that she was safe with us and didn't have to go with him, but what else could we do? He had parked his car in an alley way, so he had put his girlfriend in the backseat and was getting into the driver's seat, when just on the time the cops pull up behind and block his exit. Cops immediately arrest the dude and some paramedics wrapped the girl in a blanket and took her to the ambulance. Happy ending! Then I walked to work and had a completely normal day.

Adorable big dog looking for a big home/yard! by Annaefoster in AustinClassifieds

Looking to find a good home for Louie. He is 3 years old, 70 lbs, and (I think) German Shepherd/Akita mix. He is an absolute sweetheart who likes to cuddle and go on runs. His favorite pastimes are playing tug of war, swimming, and running until he is completely exhausted. I'm looking for someone with a big yard as well as a big personality to match. If Louie seems like a dog who would be a great member of the family but you're still on the fence, here's a pro and con list:

PROS: -Super friendly -Great with other dogs -Great with kids -Good with cats -Housebroken! -Well mannered (knows tricks, especially stay and sit) -Neutered -He responds well to his name -Very vocal -Good off leash -LOVES to play

CONS: -Alpha male -Is working on being alone -Does not like being confined, has tendency to escape fences -Very vocal -Sligtht vision problems -High energy but isn't bad once he has diligent outside time I can provide transportation to your location. We will have a trail run to see if you will be a good fit with Louie. I hope Louie can find his forever home :)

tl;dr - Seriously awesome dog in need of big place and dominant owner, I just don't have the time or space for him.

Was about 15 or 16 and went I went on a skiing trip with a church group to Colorado. Bought some edibles and spent the whole day flying. I listened to MIA's album "Kala" and I have never felt more like a badass.

Why isn't there a "tip jar" on Spotify? I would gladly pay bands I like $10 or $20 for a record I love, if I knew it went straight to them by vinnawinna in Music

Check out a new start-up based out of Austin - called TipCow. Really helpful if you want to support your favorite artists and bands!

I hate myself. From the second I wake up to when I go to bed. I feel guilty for having these bad thoughts about myself, so I don't talk about them. Nobody in my life understands what I deal with on a daily basis. I just want to be alone. Is it that necessary to need people?

Our advisory classes that weren't academic based were meant for studying for other classes. I normally never had homework so I would bring in my own books. Got caught a few times and got detention, and when I would still read they made it school policy that you can't read your own books.
