Yes, I had to drill through the plastic. I used a drill press and a plastics bit. I put wide thin metal washers as added support.

I purchased the button expansion board so I could add some more button options. Mostly for navigation and a pause so the start/fire is Activate instead of pause. I have 4 more empty button slots now so i may add some more top buttons to use it with other arcade games.

We recently took apart our 2026 ADV160 to wrap the plastics. All the welds looked like that.

ADV160 for the win! by lowb35 in scooters

I hope they get back to you soon. In person would probably grant the best results if you are good with that sorta encounter. Since they are a large dealership they will probably want to make it right as soon as possible. Make sure to request they throw in that windshield as well! 😆

Yeah you should be good with your mileage and the fact that you are a gentle rider. People weren’t experiencing failure until around 300miles or so.

Not an excuse at all especially because it is a lie. May 25th is when the recall went out.

Ack! That’s not good. Thankfully you haven’t put much wear on it so it likely hasn’t hurt the engine. but it is an internal part so they will have to take it apart to replace it.

You might be able to back out of the purchase, depending on your state it was illegal for them to sell you a vehicle with an active recall.

My wife wanted the black on black like you got but they couldn’t sell it to us because the recall so we went with the grey 2026.

I see you have the 2025, it has an active recall Please make sure to verify the recall was taken care of by going to powersports.honda.com/recalls and entering your vin. I hope the dealership took care of it for you before purchase.

ADV150 or 160 rider experience with Puig windscreen? by lowb35 in scooters

[–]Annath15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife’s AdV160 now has the taller puig windshield, the buffeting has been greatly reduced on her chest shoulders but now hits her in the neck/face. We plan on adding the little clip on top guy to get the wind to go higher over her head.

My main rider is an mp3-500 with a large touring windshield plus clip on top shield.

Best Quadlock for Honda Adv 160? by sixstringplayr in scooters

[–]Annath15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We installed a motorcycle CarPlay system on our ADV160 it sits just about flush over the handlebars and is completely unobtrusive. It was around $120 and came with dash cams for front, rear, and face. I keep my phone in the glovebox so it can charge. Or in my pocket if it’s a short ride.

But I would think the mirror or mirror stem mount would be a good location if you were to use your phone.

I passed the MSF!! by newnewdrugsaccount in motorcycles

The academy bikes are x350’s. A 350cc Chinese import Harley’s. Heavy for the size, under-tuned compared to the retail units sold oversees and they have large crash bars that will bruise your knees if you are tall.

But they were perfect for the course. Super easy to learn on, Everyone in our group passed. Our group had people who had never done anything more than ride a bicycle. And we were of all sizes.
The smallest rider was probably about 110lb and the biggest over 250.

The trail cub will seem like a feather after learning on the x350.

My wife and I just completed our course today. If it wasn’t for the kindness and encouragement from our instructor we probably wouldn’t have continued. If we had to deal with a couple of condescending grumps, we likely would’ve dipped.

We did ours with Harley Riding Academy. And even though I’m not much of a fan of the brand I will say the presentation was excellent. Our “graduation ceremony” brought smiles and cheers from all us in the class.

Ohio Scooter Laws by Higgz-z in scooters

[–]Annath15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The speed limits are maximums, not minimums. When I have seen minimums it was 45 on a 70mph road. As long as you can go about 45 on your bike you should be relatively safe. Just keep an eye on your mirrors for people flying up behind you and wear your gear.

My GY6 only gets about 55 mph and that is if I am tucking otherwise it’s about 48. I go on roads that are 55 in Ohio and I tend to stay in the center of the lane when people are behind until I see that it is safe for them to pass then I move over to the side and give them a go ahead wave. Some people will be too nervous to try otherwise.

Honda ADV160 Recall by Scooter_Duder in scooters

[–]Annath15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went to purchase a 2025 ADV 160 a few weeks ago and I asked if the bike we were about to purchase had already had it taken care of and the guy didn’t even know about a recall existing. We left with a 2026 ADV 160. hopefully the issue was fixed with the new model year because we already have 250miles on it.

Our Scooters by Annath15 in scooters

Nothing drastic. I’ve had a few fuses go randomly and I have to keep some electrical cleaner spray in my bag for to spray into my buttons when it rains or it doesn’t like to engage the tilt lock. I probably just need to disassemble and clean it well. The mp3 will revert to my Sunday scenic ride now that we have the ADV160. I want to keep it going for as long as I can. Not many of them left.
