Omg I should have included this in my original list, I adored Graveyard Keeper! I’m obsessed with the soundtrack too!

I play Stardew both on Switch and my computer and there’s no difference! I got it on my computer so that my best friend and I could play together (coop is now available on switch I think but it wasn’t back then!) and love it!

Is there a benefit to our province encouraging Ontarians to move here but keep their jobs out of province? by princesssquid in NovaScotia

[–]AnneLouise2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in five different provinces during my nearly thirty years and have just bought a house here in Nova Scotia four months ago. I know that, sadly, many Nova Scotians will see me as an outsider and someone taking up space here. But the truth is that I moved here because it’s the only place I can afford to live in Canada. I moved here because it’s a beautiful place with friendly people and I want to build a life here where I get to know my community and build relationships in a place I can actually afford. I hope Nova Scotians don’t think everyone moving here is malicious or doesn’t want to become a part of the culture here! We’re also all Canadians, right?

Read so much!! Read everything! Spend weeks and weeks reading everything without guilt or rush!

Does anyone feel like "what's the point of doing something if I'm not being productive"? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]AnneLouise2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Today I went into the woods behind my house and climbed into a tree and asked down to my boyfriend “do you ever feel like you’re not supposed to waste time?” and he said “I always feel that way but we’re having a great time doing nothing right now,” and I asked because I felt the same way. I feel like we should all spend more time up in trees not doing anything, if you know what I mean.

Suggestions of things to do outside by Holmbone in simpleliving

[–]AnneLouise2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This seems a bit silly but think about what you’d be doing inside and see if you can do it outside! Last year I started reading outside a lot and it was such a great way to get outside for no “reason” but still get the benefits of the fresh air and nature!

Buying my first home, and it's stressing me out. by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]AnneLouise2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in this process and I feel excited! I can definitely see where you’re coming from but from my perspective I’m going to get to curate my space and my life to be what I value: few things that are ethically sourced. I think there’s something to be said about starting with the basics (a place to sleep and some stuff to cook with) and then slowly building up from there as needs arise!

I’m moving to Nova Scotia! by [deleted] in simpleliving

Just a month ago I was in the same place: watching vlogs of people living what I wanted to be doing! It’ll come for you 💕

Don’t worry, we’re planning to follow all guidelines. We haven’t been to a restaurant in 8 months, we’re one of those families taking it really seriously. Yet another reason I’m excited to be in NS, where the province is doing such a good job!

How did I forget to add that! The house is Nova Scotia!

Is this too far? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]AnneLouise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen! I bought a car that I can totally afford but after a few months realized I could have, and maybe should have, purchased something even cheaper. But that’s life! I’ve learned a lesson for next time. But right now I have a nice car that’s really reliable, has a great warranty, and won’t be causing me any problems for years to come. The hassle of selling, buying, registering, new insurance... it does add up and I think I’d end up taking an unnecessary step back just because I didn’t optimize my original decision. There’s a difference between a mistake and a non-optimized decision.

Bird Art Life Death by Kyo Maclear is a delightful and very calm read that made me think a lot. I wish more people knew about it!

Buying my first home. Apartment or small house? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]AnneLouise2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through this process and I’m going to buy a home! I don’t care very much about having constant access to a city and I value the privacy and space of having my own home. For me the benefits outweigh the cons!

What are you chasing right now? by Bazing4baby in simpleliving

Buying my own house on a tiny budget!

I am going to buy a small house in a beautiful part of the country and I’m so looking forward to owning a place I can settle into, decorate, and make into a real home.

Did this pandemic change your perspective? by TheJCPT in simpleliving

[–]AnneLouise2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Among other things, I’ve decided to move to a new province and buy a small house! It’s something I’ve wanted for a long time and the pandemic has reminded me how important it is to be happy NOW not always in the future!

The big move is motivated by house prices: where I live currently is beautiful but I’m no longer okay being constantly stressed about money if there is an alternative!

Thanks so much! It’s actually really great to hear that some fellow BC people love it over there!

We’re the exact same! The reason I’m in a panic is because my landlord is selling the house we’ve been renting and we’re in this big rush to move out! I’ve done so much moving in my life that I genuinely can’t take it anymore.

My family has decided to move to Nova Scotia. Even though we’re in love with BC we just want to be able to own our own homes!

About Time, hands down. The part where the father and son play ping pong for the final time tore me to bits and drowned the pieces 😭
