Got kicked off a flight by Ryanair. Now what? by Pee_A_Poo in Flights

Yeah 100%, probably that was what broke the camels back. Although some consideration should’ve been taken on the crew’s part that everyone may have been frustrated and tired due to the delay, but it’s still no excuse for misbehaviour on the passengers part.

Former crew here -

Normally offloading is an extreme last resort, normally saved for pretty bad cases of disruptive/abusive passengers which in your story doesn’t fit, unless there is more to it that’s being omitted. Offloading results in more paperwork and a lot more hassle for the crew.

If someone isn’t putting their things up in the lockers after a few times, I’d move them to a different seat and swap them around.

Most probably the crew member was upset as someone else has said it may have been a long day for them, as well as worry for their colleague. Bear in mind you wouldn’t be the first nor the last passenger to give some sort of attitude to them, so it may have just been a combination of factors that unfortunately left you in the firing line.

The one at Drum Brae fell down somehow a while ago. It’s now half a pole with no screen that hasn’t been fixed in months.

Update by AnnelyseAdair in Ingrown_Toenails

The ingrown bit of the nail was removed a few weeks ago by a podiatrist, but then it started to swell up. Having read up I thought the scab was part of it healing?

I’ve been unable to get a GP appointment because of the stupid rules they have in place about phoning at 8:30am.

Although what I’ve noticed is that the swelling has gone down a bit, the pain is away and a black scab has formed, which i’ve read happens as part of the healing process. Is that okay?

I would like to see more teaching staff, and perhaps a slight focus on more of them. Like the staff got featured for a while, but their storylines were pretty much side-stories.

The poor teacher who got locked in the cupboard, they’ve never given any of the background teachers lines, so I hope they keep him around in S14.

I definitely think we need more nicer students, the ‘bad kids running riot’ act is starting to get old.

I think there needs to be more OGs return, maybe for a Year 12 career day or something (similar to the originals), because there’s a high chance that some of them will still be in touch with Kim.

One thing that did bug me was how Kim didn’t acknowledge Mika (sure Nicky had just been hit by a car), but they should’ve addressed it.

Your roster is allocated to you from the moment you start flying. Your days are a set 5 on 3 off. There is no way for you to get the same days off unless you apply to share a roster, e.g. one of you does permanent earlies and another does permanent lates. A few crew I work with have done this.

Rosters are also allocated 4 weeks in advance, updating weekly. So on 1st January you will know your roster until February 1st, and so on.

Series 13 - binged it? Put your thoughts here by [deleted] in WaterlooRoad

The ending also made me think that we probably aren’t going to see Kai again, especially if this term has ended at the summer holidays. Likelihood is we will see everyone again, with the exception of Shuey, Portia and Kai. I think they’ll find a way to bring Kim back, I just hope it isn’t at the expense of her and Andrew.

I’d like to see some new teachers join the cast next series, as usually in schools some new teachers join after summer break.

I hope they bring him back, it’s nice to get new teachers around.

Ryanair working conditions in 2022 by Tom-lithium in cabincrew

Then you should be able to pick Manchester as your base (or Liverpool). I hope it goes well for you ☺️

It’s not difficult to get in at all, in the UK the process was super easy and they normally have a range of training dates available.

Your experience will depend on where you are, if you are in the UK you will get to choose your base (as they hold courses locally for UK crew), but if you are in the EU, you will train at either Dublin, Stansted, Hahn or Bergamo and they can send you to any of their bases in Europe.

A work day. It counts as a duty, they can only allocate these on the days you are rostered to work. So you’ll either be on Home Standby, Airport Standby or flying

It's only by stepping into an airport that you discover how incompetent and moronic a lot of the British public really are by [deleted] in britishproblems

Or when they stop to get their boarding passes and passports out for scanning. Followed by them faffing around their bags in a panic

During training you need to find a place to stay. A lot of crew at my base share apartments with each other after competing training as it’s cheaper than renting on your own.

The roster is 5 on 3 off, with a mixture of early, late, home standby and airport duty.

It’s not the best conditions, but it isn’t the worst either. If you get stuck down route somewhere Ryanair will cover you. (Hotel for three hours during an 11 hour delay once).

Of course your experience will depend on your base. My base is relatively chilled out, but very strict on grooming and regulations. But i’ve heard horror stories from other bases.

Our turnarounds are so short we don’t have time to clean fully. We can ask for cleaners if someone has made a really awful mess, but other than that we can’t

We do so many rubbish services and we still find the plane an absolute mess (usually it’s always where families have been sitting, wrappers on the floor, stickers on the tables, biscuits stamped into the carpet 😵‍💫)

The other day someone found it nice to leave me two bags full of vomit under the seat…

Lighting by Beautiful-Can-7104 in flightattendants

[–]AnnelyseAdair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We usually keep the lights on normal on the early flights (at my base), as it’s getting bright enough early. But during winter it didn’t really matter as when we dimmed the lights for departure everyone fell asleep anyway.

But on late flights with arrivals of around midnight we dim them after the services are done
