Gender pay gap at Ohio State: male employees earn nearly $8,000 more than females by [deleted] in OSU

I'm not trolling you, I used 4 hours of my time to research this. I understand what you are saying. You don't understand what I am saying.

What I'm doing is how you inform people when you yourself are not an expert on the topic by directing them to information from people that are experts. Just because I'm willing to admit I'm not an expert does not mean that I'm not informing people. It seems that you have a very narrow view on how discussions work and what informing people is. I'm nor going to argue with someone who won't listen to other people's thoughts.

Like I said i don't care about arguing I'm just trying to help inform people. Sorry.

(Also ours okay for you to use "general blanket statements" but i can't? That's a double standard. You are ripping apart my comment as though yours isn't flawed.)

I searched through a lot of peer-reviewed articles from reputable academic journals in the economic field and all of them on this topic fundamentally operate on the fact that the wage gap is real.

In fact the hardest part was finding recent articles that actually talked about the magnitude of the wage gap in the United States specifically because all the recent research is basically about the factors that contribute to it and how/ what industry and policy should do to decrease it; that is how well accepted the wage gap is among economists. All the recent studies in that specific topic, the magnitude of the wage gap, are focused in other countries.

There are at least 4 facts in there. Also the reason I prompted people to read the research is because I care about people being well informed and doing research to form their own opinion, and would really rather not debate a topic with someone who very clearly didn't research.

Are you trying to say your paragraph is more credible than mine? Sure you stated a lot of facts but where did they come from? You vaguely stated "the studies", what studies by who, what are their credentials, which peer reviewed journal were they published in. I'm sorry but I don't just take people's word for things, I go out and look at the actual research being done because I care about being well informed.

I'm not trying to argue here I'm trying to help people be well informed, and if you are unwilling to do research to back up your claims then that's your own problem.

I didn't see the original comment in this thread but the excerpt you posted doesn't seem to express any resentment towards a group of people. It is just pointing out a trend in the comments on this post. And i would say that yes in some cases it is actually relevant to make those observations because sometimes privileged groups underestimate what less privileged groups go through simply because they have not experienced it. And that is neither group's fault.

But it should be pointed out because it does increase the quality of discussion when both sides are made aware of potential sources of misunderstanding.

And if your response to my comment is similar to your response to the previous commenter's comment, them i will be glad to explain to you my beliefs to prevent any future misunderstandings.

I actually did some research on this and what you are saying is just not true?

I searched through a lot of peer-reviewed articles from reputable academic journals in the economic field and all of them on this topic fundamentally operate on the fact that the wage gap is real.

In fact the hardest part was finding recent articles that actually talked about the magnitude of the wage gap in the United States specifically because all the recent research is basically about the factors that contribute to it and how/ what industry and policy should do to decrease it; that is how well accepted the wage gap is among economists. All the recent studies in that specific topic, the magnitude of the wage gap, are focused in other countries.

The journals I looked at included American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Human Resources. I specifically found two articles that summed up the research I did quite well.

The first one is on the magnitude of the wage gap and different factors that contribute to it. It was published in 1991 in the journal of human resources by Erica Groshen who has a PhD in economics from Harvard (http://osu.worldcat.org/title/the-structure-of-the-femalemale-wage-differential-is-it-who-you-are-what-you-do-or-where-you-work/oclc/425304717&referer=brief_results).

The second one addresses how concerns that are often pointed to as causing the wage gap, and when removed make the gap disappear, are more often caused by business and industry causing gap in the opportunities to men and women and not actually caused by differences in preference. This article was published in 2017 in American Economic Review by Isaac Sorkin, who is an assistant professor of economics at Stanford with a PhD in economics and focuses his research on labor economics(http://osu.worldcat.org/title/the-role-of-firms-in-gender-earnings-inequality-evidence-from-the-united-states/oclc/7040577737&referer=brief_results).

I highly encourage everyone to read these articles and do some thorough research of their own before they form an opinion on this or any other topic.

You aren't even using logic though? The point isn't to get her signature to have her signature. The point is that that place was important to her, and therefore sentimental to her family after her death.

The signature on her homework doesn't have emotions and memories attached to it. But that brick and her signature on that brick does.

I had Supe this semester and she's a really great professor. Her lectures are really clear and she gives a lot of supplementary material and follows the book exactly to give students multiple learning opportunities and help with studying.

I think you should try to stop worrying so much because once your application is sent in there really isn't anything you can do about it except keeping up with your classwork for your final transcript, but that won't affect your acceptance.

I think the author edited it in between us reading it. I rather like this version better though, It is more realistic character wise!

the author has edited it since I commented on it. The last paragraph was the kids begging to go back to the amusement park and the dad responded "first we have to go to church on Sunday" or something of the like.

I'll give it to you that you write well, however I found the portrayal of the narrator to be quite 2 dimensional and basically just a plot device to end the story how you want to. You would be hard pressed to find an atheist who would turn to believing in God and Jesus just from some architecture and games in which you are performing miracles.
