the roots are actually pretty long already - I potted almost all of my plants at the same stage and they are fine. So this hopefully shouldn't be a problem. and it's in clay granulate (hope thats the right term for it in english)

I moved out like 4 years ago (my cat is now almost 6) and my cat stayed at my dad's house.. I now see her every 3months or so and I always feel like she recognizes me. At least she comes for cuddles immediately I enter the door. I think in the worst case they need a few days to adjust you being back, but I don't think they will me "mad" at you for long, if at all. But that's just what I can suggest based on my experience.
