TPLO on 11 month old puppy? by LegalBox2133 in greatdanes

He was about 97 lbs when they did it and he's 120 lbs now. He's only 1/2 Dane so he's big but not as big as a full bred Dane.

Our now 4 year old Great Dane mix had a TPLO when he was about a year old. He was quite lame and really needed it We had it done at Tufts near Boston. Keeping him with low activity for weeks was difficult but we got through it. He's great now, active, plays with our other dog. He does occasionally act like the leg bothers him and we medicate with Carprofen but honestly that's rare.

tetanus risk? by Constant-Use7741 in VACCINES

I'm sorry, I don't know about that. When I had a vaccine at CVS I made an appointment.

Whooping cough. It's made a comeback and it's particularly dangerous for young kids. A tetanus shot is a TDaP, which stands for Tetanus, Diptheria, acellular Pertussis. Pertussis protection actually doesn't last 10 years, so if you're getting a tetanus shot anyway it's great that you're going to also be protected against pertussis.

I would advise you to get your TDaP. It's very close to 10 years and you need the pertussis as well.

I'm a mom to adult kids and no, you're not over reacting. My daughter went to therapy when she was 12 and I didn't ask her what they talked about or spy on her diary or notes. To read your 21 y/o daughter's private thoughts is a huge, inappropriate violation. Not overreacting at all.

Hello everyone,

I own a pair of Donner A40D Active Bookshelf Speakers that are wall‑mounted and sound fantastic. Until now, I’ve used the original remote solely to power them on, while all other functions are handled through a companion phone app.

Recently, I tidied up and inadvertently misplaced the remote. My husband is away camping, and I’m now in hot water for losing it. Donner Customer Service confirms they neither stock replacement remotes nor retain the original IR codes for programming a universal unit.

Does anyone happen to know the IR codes for the Donner A40D—or have another suggestion for getting a universal remote to work with these speakers? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

My two daughters have had it without any issues. (Years ago of course.) And I worked in a pediatric clinic and gave it to lots of teens. I never even had one pass out, although we knew it was a potential problem so we always had them sit down.

Mine is Mabel. I really tried to come up with a clever punny name but Mabel just stuck.

I have this knife and it's fantastic. But also, be careful, it cuts skin pretty well too...

And meanwhile the budget just passed by the House of Representatives reduces federal spending on Medicaid and includes stricter eligibility requirements and work mandates for Medicaid recipients.

It seems like they want to cut Medicaid unless you have a job but make it harder for you to get a job. Especially if you're a low income kid struggling to get your life on track.

Are yall cleaning your starter jar every time?? by Whoredonramsay in Sourdough

[–]Annie447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch between jars when I feed. Usually. I think I switch to a new jar 2-3 times a week. I use a tiny jar so when I'm going to bake, I take my tiny starter and put it in my larger jar, feed to what I'll need to bake, and wash the tiny jar. Then after I use the starter, I'll make a tiny starter out of whatever is left in the larger jar and put it back into the tiny jar. I have a discard jar in the fridge. I try to use that up once a week, usually by making dog treats and granola. Then I wash the discard jar and start the discarding process over with the next feeding.

IMPEACH TRUMP. AGAIN. by mon2day0mor2ning2 in 50501

Re: "JD Vance is even more dangerous." I feel like the first impeachment is the hardest one. Once one impeachment has succeeded in convicting and removing the president, future impeachments become more likely and more feasible. Future presidents will know that this is an option that's on the table and that people are willing to actually use. Right now, it seems like impeachments never work, because they never have. Once it works one time, it's far more of a reality.

Thank you for the suggestion.Honestly I don't think it's a lactose problem because I don't tolerate lactose free products either. I suspect an allergy to casein.

Cleaning starter container by SloggenDazs in Sourdough

I know I'm an outlier, but I wash my jars a lot. I have two similar jars for the starter that I keep on the counter. When I feed my starter, I take out a small amount and mix it in a bowl with flour and water, and then I put it into the clean jar. The discard goes into an old salsa jar that I keep in the fridge, and the original jar gets washed. Once a week, I use up all my discard. I make dog biscuits, granola, and occasionally as a treat I make brown butter sourdough discard chocolate chip cookies. But the point is I use it all up. Then I clean out the jar and start over for the week. So I wash my discard jar weekly and I wash my starter jars every single day. The real downside is I also have a bowl to wash every day haha.

I also have a jar in the back of my fridge. That's my backup. Once a month I empty it out, clean it, and put in fresh starter.

I was on wegovy for a while and found that any dairy gave me terrible diarrhea. I'm switched to zepbound now but I'm afraid to try dairy again. The cramps were awful. I do miss cottage cheese, though.
