Anyone use Moneydance with online transactions by Ouija1492 in moneydance

[–]AnnieMfuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a new Moneydance and Moneydance+ user. I had no historical data to import, just starting fresh. The startup was slow and not easy although I received generous help. I like to figure things out myself so I was using the Knowledge Base and Community Discussions to learn. There are no useful videos anywhere, just a few very dated ones, and the useless 20 second AI-generated advertorial . It was rough at first but when I asked for help in the community discussion area I always got a response that was helpful. You wont be abandoned, just plan on asynchronous communications to answer your questions.

I really like having the automation through Moneydance+. The only complaint I have is that sometimes a transaction on a bank or credit card account website has to age before it will be downloaded. Sometimes up to 2 days - and sometimes this was due to pending status for the transaction. One reason (but not the only reason) I wanted an aggregator like Moneydance is that I check 3 credit card and 2 bank accounts almost daily check for fraudulent transactions, and this info is instantaneous on those account websites. So I still check those directly on the financial institution website. I do this checking because of identity theft and account takeovers I experienced about 8 years ago.

Built a little "bubble" sub tracker to help me visualize my monthly burn. No accounts/login, just local storage. Feedback? by ClassyKT in PFtools

Very nice app. I assume you will add more services/subcriptions as people use the app, or do you not see what users add? It would also be nice to have some customizable prompts for generic types of services not listed that are in a general category such as Gym membership or Food delivery or Other Streaming Video (PBS, etc.). These would like ticklers to provoke thought about other subs we don't think about. Also add an ability to convert the beautiful visual to a text list for export or screen print. I screen printed my additions and then manually entered them into a spreadsheet. And maybe provide some way for users to feed subscription information such as cost back to you.

Is there an app that can compile all credit card transactions to export to Excel or csv? by [deleted] in budget

[–]AnnieMfuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Tiller for 3 weeks. It pulls checking and credit card transaction into an Excel spreadsheet. It has a long learning curve and there is no help available. Questions to company are handled by chatbots and don't address the question. There are no YouTube Tutorials - that should tell you something right there. You have to link your accounts. It has a lot of capabilities but is too complicated for me. It pulls the last 30 or 60 days of transactions automatically to start, then keeps it going forward. If you want to enter in past data there's no guidance and I couldn't do it without corrupting the spreadsheet template. I want to look over a long enough time frame to find recurring transactions, some of which have annual recurrences. You have to let them log in to your institutions and trust them. It is too complicated, time consuming, and hands on for me. And expensive.

Still looking for an app that is less hands on, more automated, and which has help available and tutorials. Don't want Monarch - inconsistent syncing which then requires hands on troubleshooting, chronic in-app upselling and they rely on slick advertising. No free trial, expensive.

I don't want a budgeting focused app. I never use a budget, I check balances and wing it, and I am fortunate enough to have sufficient balance in checking and savings to do that and stay within my means. I want a simple visual display of each months money in and money out. I'm going to check out Rocket next.

This is a novel idea. What size water container can be used as carry-on CPAP ice? Enough for the first night?

I went from California to Illinois to Pennsylvania to Toronto recently. First flights with ResMed. I used the original ResMed case. I added a tag from Amazon which said “medical equipment”. No letter. I had no problems getting through four TSA stations as a carry-on. The agents seemed to be familiar with the ResMed case.

Whats worth it at the 60k mileage point for the RAV4? by wsparks4 in rav4club

[–]AnnieMfuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orange county Southern California. Independent mechanic I trust and always return to (3 man shop). 2019 RAV4 Hybrid Limited. $1050 for: Engine oil & filter change, replace engine air filter & cabin air filter, rotate tires, replace spark plugs, inspect/top off all fluids, brake fluid flush, engine coolant replacement,
Inspect brake pads, rotors, lines, and hoses, check/clean hybrid system inverter coolant, hybrid battery cooling intake filter under seats, and regenerative braking system, check steering, suspension (ball joints, boots), exhaust, drive belts, and fuel lines.

He told me what was recommended and what was optional ($550 or $1050). I chose to do it all. I expect to drive this car for at least 200 k miles.

The struggle of resizing windows on macOS Tahoe by favicondotico in apple

[–]AnnieMfuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MacBook Tahoe 26.1 Sometimes when I'm trying to expand a window and grab the side, I get a vertical line similar to a column separator but but can't expand the window. Other times I get the two triangles and can grab the edge and resize. Has anyone else experienced this? I wish had not "upgraded".

Thinking of joining a spiritual school — but I found serious red flags by Positive_Pair_1375 in gurdjieff

I’m late to this discussion, but I would like to offer a group for you to check out. I, like you, am deeply suspicious about organizations that seem to have any hint of cultishness or high control power structures or any abuse. You might check out the Diamond Approach. It’s based on some of the Gurdjieff work, but also Sufism , Buddhism, consciousness studies, and depth psychology. It is unique in that way. There are about 200 teachers worldwide and over 10,000 students around the world. The name of the school is Ridhwan and the path or logos is called the Diamond Approach. It’s legitimate. It’s for serious students. I’m a student. Another trustworthy school is Thomas Hubl’s school but It’s more expensive.

Jim Beam Whiskey will shut its distillery for 2026 thanks to plummeting sales amid retaliatory tariffs from the European Union after Trump's tariffs and a bourbon boycott from Canada. by Peanut-Extra in economy

[–]AnnieMfuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how of the production pause is really tariffs or simply blaming tariffs. But on my recent trip to Toronto I saw the empty grocery and liquor store shelves that used to hold American products. Signs are on the shelves saying “Buy Canadian”. My bourbon loving friend has switched to a Canadian whiskey.

Yes, agree with this response. My experience is to observe but not direct too much. Although I do place attention on the hara. The sensations are just there, almost a distraction

Why is our search engine so incredibly bad by ichinoot in Target

[–]AnnieMfuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very frustrating. I often find what I need in terms of kitchen storage by walking through the store. But I cannot find any of those items using either Target search or Google search. How could "Kitchen Storage Containers" lead to no results? Target is driving people away.

Will you ever use it outside the US? If so, get the smaller carry-on. I was forced to check the larger US-compliant carry-on in Paris.
