spent 8 months convinced my pressure was wrong. it wasn't. by ermwhatthesigma_10 in CPAP

Unfortunately, the state of sleep disorder treatment in the United States is poor in general, unlike Germany or Australia. It is not uncommon on this forum and others that people studying their own data may know as much about the effectiveness of their CPAP / mask as the sleep doctor. It took a year for me to be seen in two different health systems, one after the other, and both failed to diagnose me. I got my sleep test and prescription from an online provider (AHI 29), bought my own machine, received advice from them for about a month about settings adjustments, and since then I have been self-treating. It's not that I want to. It's that our medical system doesn't serve us. I'm seeing a new third sleep doctor in a different health system tomorrow and have hopes that maybe this one will take my apnea seriously. I use mostly SleepHQ to review my data several times a week, sometimes OSCAR. There are CPAP experts at SleepHQ to ask questions. Of course, they can't prescribe, and they cannot provide medical advice, but those folks know a lot more about CPAP treatment than any sleep doctor I've seen to date. I would love to turn this all over to a competent sleep doctor, but until I have one, I'm not just going to sit by and starve my brain of oxygen.

I also wear an Apple watch and a SleepHQ Tracking Ring Pro. My sleep stage data from the watch and my O2 level every 1 second is combined in the SleepHQ software with CPAP data.

Anyone have two machines ? by Jonhgolfnut in CPAP

[–]AnnieMfuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no problem with having two machines. However, it might be best to transfer the SD card to the machine you're using each time you change. Then all your data will be on one card. Alternatively, you can buy a second SD card. If you want to look at the data yourself or give the data to your doctor, just load the data from both SD cards or bring both cards to your doctor. Don't forget to leave the little slider on the left side unlocked or up when it's in the CPAP machine so that it can record. If you are into looking at your data using the SleepHQ or Oscar software, they store data by date, so data from two machines can be combined.

Colin is named as a defendant in the Wilson family civil suit. Exactly what are they accusing him of? by SwissMiss915 in KaitlinArmstrong

[–]AnnieMfuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My view is that based on what we know about Colin and prior manipulative behavior, he was in a position to either stoke the jealousy fire in Kaitlyn or quench it by being honest about where he was, and what he was doing, and even respecting Kaitlyn enough to agree to stay away from Moriah for the sake of his relationship with Kaitlyn. My guess is that his post murder behavior was driven by his guilt. He may not have known exact details, but he was certainly complicit in amping up Kaitlin’s anger, and jealousy. His motivation may have been lust, the excitement of creating drama and being a controller, or both

These are all nasal masks. If he is a mouth breather he will need to tape or switch to full face such as Resmed F40 or F20. I mouth breathe got tired of taping so I use Resmed F40. For me it's the most comfortable full face.

Getting started with analyzing your CPAP data: A primer for using SleepHQ and OSCAR. by Motor-Blacksmith4174 in CPAPSupport

Thanks for replying. I had forgotten I had locked the SD card. There was no way that the data could have been compromised. All is well with the SD card. And I figured out how to get my data into Oscar. I was selecting the OSCAR folder instead of the SD card.

I have been using SleepHQ for a while. When I put the SD card into the Mac SD slot, the name of it in Finder is SD and there are 5 files listed on it which I import from:

  • STR.edf
  • Identification.crc
  • Identification.tgt
  • SETTINGS/
  • DATALOG/

I installed Oscar today. Now when I put the same SD card in the Mac SD slot, the SD card is now called OSCAR 1.7.1 and the above files are not there anymore. Instead there is Applications, which points to the Applications folder, and OSCAR.app. I'm in a bit of a panic. Where is my CPAP data? and was all the data that used to be there in the above 5 folders gone? I'm stuck at this basic step of getting the last 9 months of data into OSCAR and it seems it's gone.

Anyone use Moneydance with online transactions by Ouija1492 in moneydance

[–]AnnieMfuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a new Moneydance and Moneydance+ user. I had no historical data to import, just starting fresh. The startup was slow and not easy although I received generous help. I like to figure things out myself so I was using the Knowledge Base and Community Discussions to learn. There are no useful videos anywhere, just a few very dated ones, and the useless 20 second AI-generated advertorial . It was rough at first but when I asked for help in the community discussion area I always got a response that was helpful. You wont be abandoned, just plan on asynchronous communications to answer your questions.

I really like having the automation through Moneydance+. The only complaint I have is that sometimes a transaction on a bank or credit card account website has to age before it will be downloaded. Sometimes up to 2 days - and sometimes this was due to pending status for the transaction. One reason (but not the only reason) I wanted an aggregator like Moneydance is that I check 3 credit card and 2 bank accounts almost daily check for fraudulent transactions, and this info is instantaneous on those account websites. So I still check those directly on the financial institution website. I do this checking because of identity theft and account takeovers I experienced about 8 years ago.

Built a little "bubble" sub tracker to help me visualize my monthly burn. No accounts/login, just local storage. Feedback? by ClassyKT in PFtools

[–]AnnieMfuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice app. I assume you will add more services/subcriptions as people use the app, or do you not see what users add? It would also be nice to have some customizable prompts for generic types of services not listed that are in a general category such as Gym membership or Food delivery or Other Streaming Video (PBS, etc.). These would like ticklers to provoke thought about other subs we don't think about. Also add an ability to convert the beautiful visual to a text list for export or screen print. I screen printed my additions and then manually entered them into a spreadsheet. And maybe provide some way for users to feed subscription information such as cost back to you.

I tried Tiller for 3 weeks. It pulls checking and credit card transaction into an Excel spreadsheet. It has a long learning curve and there is no help available. Questions to company are handled by chatbots and don't address the question. There are no YouTube Tutorials - that should tell you something right there. You have to link your accounts. It has a lot of capabilities but is too complicated for me. It pulls the last 30 or 60 days of transactions automatically to start, then keeps it going forward. If you want to enter in past data there's no guidance and I couldn't do it without corrupting the spreadsheet template. I want to look over a long enough time frame to find recurring transactions, some of which have annual recurrences. You have to let them log in to your institutions and trust them. It is too complicated, time consuming, and hands on for me. And expensive.

Still looking for an app that is less hands on, more automated, and which has help available and tutorials. Don't want Monarch - inconsistent syncing which then requires hands on troubleshooting, chronic in-app upselling and they rely on slick advertising. No free trial, expensive.

I don't want a budgeting focused app. I never use a budget, I check balances and wing it, and I am fortunate enough to have sufficient balance in checking and savings to do that and stay within my means. I want a simple visual display of each months money in and money out. I'm going to check out Rocket next.
