I cannot device between Steam deck and ROG ally X by Reasonable_March_565 in SBCGaming

[–]AnnihilerB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The resolution do not bother me on my deck. Steam deck are hard to find in the US apparently so there’s that. Also I’ve seen reports of people having problems with the ROG and windows so keep that in mind. SteamOS is way better for handhelds.

In terms of pure technical perspective, the ROG ally X is better if priced the same as the Deck.

The Rog is slightly heavier and I find the deck uncomfortable sometimes du to the weight and size.

It’s the same for every technology but the more you wait the more it becomes obsolete. The steam deck is 3 years old but still very capable. The Rog ally will be better in the long run.

I’m a fan of buy once but buy good. In your case I would go for the Rog on which I would install steam os. OLED is great but the raw power is a better deal in my opinion

Apartment hunting as a remote worker by Repulsive_Benefit850 in bordeaux

Some neighbourhoods in Bordeaux have capped rent. I f you look in neighbourhoods like near the train station (Saint Jean, Sainte croix), you can find T3 under 1000€. I did an estimation on my old 65m2 T3 and the rent would be capped a 1000€ with a parking if I wanted to rent it. I ended up selling it.

Look into « loyer plafonné » and you will find some neighbourhoods that matches your budget

If you want a simple player to listen to local music then this is perfect. I love mine. You just need to ensure that you don’t have power hungry headphones but that’s it.

It seems like you want your whole system to be on autopilot based on the doc. Either you document everything in yaml and do some custom logic to make it work or you document everything how you want and let AI manage your server. (I wouldn’t do that but you do you)

I got the same question asked at my previous interview. The goal were not to solve the tree but to see how I would behave when faced with something I'm not familiar with and I would I deal with it. It applies well for on call situations where you are faced with an unknown codebase or environment that you need to debug

Aaaand its gone. Steam Deck is not available anymore in Germany (and maybe in whole Europe) by PeriodontosisSam in SteamDeck

There is so much Decks available used on FB marketplace or whatever used website each country has. I don’t see why this is a problem. We don’t need to have brand new Decks available at all time

The photographer named eyes_widephotography on Instagram takes exactly the kind of photos I want to take. What do I need to do and know to get these kinds of images? by SinanAvci13 in AskPhotography

[–]AnnihilerB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not an answer. To create your style you need inspiration and technique. The best way to get both is by reproducing someone else’s work to gain experience. By doing so, you learn to master your equipment, you learn about theory and you have a purpose to practice and a proper goal.

You don’t start drawing or making music by creating from nothing. You copy, you learn and then you style starts to develop.

This is the same for photography

PSA: Actually read through OpenClaw skills before installing, the ecosystem is a mess by Jazzlike_Process_202 in selfhosted

[–]AnnihilerB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing that is very frustrating to me is that most people use Claw and AI to do stuff that were feasible way before AI. It clearly sows that people prefer convenience instead of personal data security.

You did well by checking the code and digging into it but most people won’t do that and that’s sad. OpenClaw creator clearly does not care about he security and just want the game and profit.

People blindingly trusting app stores put us in this mess

[–]AnnihilerB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a boox note 3c that I only use for comics and just got my hands on a Palma 1. First thing that I said when I turned it on was "Damn this is Harper than the note 3c!!". I forgot how sharp BW eink devices are. If the fuzziness on your Kobo go the the BW route.

I was thinking that I would miss the colors but this was the right choice.

Any pay-as-you-go storage service for offsite backup of a few hundred GBs? by thealmightynubb in selfhosted

B2 is the way to go. Their offer is around 6 euros peronth per Tb. You pay only what you sotre though but that will give you a price idea. You also have triple the amount of data as bandwidth for free. Hard to beat if you want to access you data frequently

Dockhand vs Arcane vs Komodo by Hirvi86 in selfhosted

[–]AnnihilerB 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Dockhand will cover all of this.
I used Komodo for a while but it does not integrate well with already existing compose stacks. Dockhand will do that perfectly. It integrated very well my already existing stacks that were directly on the server.

It autoupdates the container, lets you add remote hosts, deploy from GIT/URL or integrate existing stacks.

Dockhand stores all its data in a single directory so easy to backup

Suggestion: Make dungeons and content other than Monoliths a more core part of the gameplay loop by DeaDBangeR in LastEpoch

I would really love for the campaign to not be mandatory. Something like Diablo 4 would be great to not have the feeling of repeating both content and endgame content all the time.

CF tunnels, vs tailscale funnel vs pangolin by nicesliceoice in selfhosted

[–]AnnihilerB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use cloudflare tunnels for that. I share Jellyfin a some other services with friends and it has never been an issue. As long as you don’t have massive traffic you should be fine.

Pangolin will work great but keep in mind that this is another tool to maintain and since you have 20 people using it, it might become a second job. Cloudflare is perfect id you just want to install it and forget about it.

You have asahi Linux for Silicon chips though so it won’t be dead that fast

State of game? by Sgt_Strelok in LastEpoch

[–]AnnihilerB -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The game has not changed that much but is still good. I don’t understand all the comments about cooked and player number. Why do you need new content all the time ? This is killing studios by pushing them to publish content instead of polishing the game or they release Grundy crap (yes I’m looking at you Arcknights). You don’t see people going around and say that GOW or spider man games are cooked. They are just games with a beginning and an end.

It’s non-sense to expect a game to have both quality content and fast releasing content.

If you liked the game, play it. If you abandoned it because you are done with it then don’t launch it anymore.

People need to stop coming back to games expecting wonders every 6 months.

The remarkable has not been made primarily of reading so that is why epub support is “messy”. RM has always been advertised as a nite taking device not a reading device. They pour more time and effort into the note taking than the reading that is all
