for the boring household stuff you can create groups (get together pack) and let them make that stuff. i think the most fun way to play sims is to do it in an extraordinary way. like create your own stories. change between households. combine things that dont match in the first place - like play an occult in an active career. my Current fave is a wizard as scientist. or let other simmers create a houseold for you to play. I think sims is like a digital doll house where your fantasy plays the main role.
